Has anyone made the Fig Clafouti (Aug 2000)?

Yesterday, my neighbor gave me a whole bag of ripe figs from his tree and I'm afraid that they'll spoil if I don't use them VERY soon. The first thing I thought of was the Fig Clafouti from the August 2000 issue. I wanted to make it last year but just never got around to it. It looks like it would be easy to assemble and since I'm short on time tonight, whatever I make has to be simple.

So, has anyone tried this recipe?? How was it?

I haven't tried it - so I'm no help for your question really. I just wanted to add that I've been searching for figs to make the fig & arugula salad. I can't find them here yet. :(

You might want to try the fig & arugula salad - it's supposed to be great according to reviews.

They have loads of great figs at Harry's -- Mission and Kadota for 3.99 and 3.49 a pint.

I did make this last year. While I don't remember the details of it, I remember that it was no big deal. Even my father who absolutely loves figs said he didn't understand what the big deal was. I guess he thought it was going to be out of this world.
