One thing this board has done for -- or to? -- me is make me want to collect all the CL Cookbooks. I already had CL 1999, and I just bought CL 1997 and 2000, but there doesn't seem to be a CL 1998. Wasn't one published that year? If so, has it gone out of print while the 1997 remains in print? Or did CL start redating them in 1999? Or what?
I'm assuming that this would be the cookbook that has all of 1997's recipes, right? (1999 has 1998s, 2000 has 1999's, etc.) Does anyone have any information on this?
Thanks. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif Phoebe
Hi Ohioan,
there is a CL cookbook for 1998. I just recieved it on the Master cook 5.0 Cl version software.
This is from the free software offer from Cheerios that was mentioned in another topic a couple of weeks ago on this BB.
This software has the CL cookbooks from `96, `97, & `98 on it.
What you need to get this software is 3 "O" codes from 3 boxes of Cheerios and $1.99 when you order online at http://www.cheerios.com and they ship the software quite quickly.
I know this is not a cookbook you can sit down with and leaf through, (I like to look through cookbooks when I have time), but this has the recipes.
Hope this helps.

It does exist. But I believe it may be out of stock at Oxmoor House books.
However, I found it on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0848715985/ref%3Dsim%5Fbooks/102-9330388-1752120
Hope this helps.

Yes there was a 1998. I just got my 2000 Try www.bn.com (http://www.bn.com)
They have several years. These annual books are great. I still keep my monthly of the 1999 and 2000 handy because at times I recall a cover or an article.

Check @ used bookstores for all of the CL annuals. I have them back to 1989, and have gotten several of them at used bookstores. Here's a link to a bookstore in Burbank, California, that sells only new and used cookbooks: http://www.abebooks.com/home/jjarvits/

Thanks, everyone! As soon as I leave here, I'll be going used-book shopping -- now that I know there really IS a CL 1998. Wow, maybe I can even pick up a few of the earlier volumes. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

[A half hour later:] Mission accomplished at Barnes & Noble! CL 1998 and 1996 are on their way to me. Thanks again, everyone.

Lately Cl has put out "The Complete CL Cookbook" which I gather covers all (?) of the previous years and has the blueberry poundcake on the cover. Does anyone know how many years it covers?

I think the new cookbook contains the top 10% of all recipes since they started publishing the magazines. That's what they say in the foreward, anyway. It looks like most of the recipes are from the mid to late 90's.
