View Full Version : Post approval by moderator?

It appears that a few members have recently tried to post links that now need to be approved by a moderator but it doesn't seem to happen with all links. I can understand wanting to control links but seriously, I have over 10,000 posts here and have never once posted spam. Other posters have stated their posts were never approved.

Hi Robyn--
This is not supposed to be happening, and we aren't entirely sure what causes a post to be flagged for moderation. And of course, the mods don't get a notification when a post needs to be moderated, either.

We're trying to get this solved, but in the meantime if anybody has a post that needs to be moderated, please e-mail me at cl_comeditor@timeinc.com and I'll approve it.

I have to say, this is really frustrating. I've now tried to post 3 posts with pictures which won't be allowed either.

I'm bumping this back up in hopes that a moderator will look at it now that the holidays are over. Please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top. I have emailed and they're not being approved.

Okay, now I see that posts are getting approved but since it's days later people don't see them because they don't bump to the top.

I'll add my voice. I tried to post to the "beach photo" thread and got the message. Now I see a first-time post on that thread, complete with photo. Slightly irritating!

I've found a work-around to this problem. I know it will take a couple of extra steps but at least you can post pictures without delay until a permanent fix is found.

Here's how:

Type your text as you normally do without posting any pictures. Submit the reply and then go back and edit your post and add your pictures. The pictures should attach to your post this time without any problems.

This works for me every time I get the "sent to a moderator for approval" message.

I am just now posting this information because I haven't had problems posting from Photobucket. I ran across the problem yesterday when trying to post a photo from a site other than Photobucket.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please share this with everyone!

I've tried contacting tech support again about this and as of yet haven't heard anything. I will continue to approve all messages in the queue once a day or so until we come up with a permanent solution.

Okay everyone, I heard back from tech support. We're going to set the spam filter to not filter posts made by users with more than 10 posts. So none of your posts should have to be approved anymore. Thank you for your patience through all this.

It may take a day or two to implement the change, so don't be alarmed if you have a post get queued for approval. I will approve it.
