Have any of you ever traveled on Royal Caribbean and Carnival? We are going on our 2nd cruise this year on Royal Caribbean and am curious to know how it compares to Carnival. I'll be on the Enchantment of the Seas. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.

Ohmigosh - there is no comparison. Royal Caribbean rules! We have been on Sovereign of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas - you will have a wonderful experience. The food will be much better, and the quality of the experience will be better. Now that I've said that I hope you don't have a terrible experience just to prove me wrong (my karma is off today!:D !
Have a wonderful time!

Never been on Royal Caribbean, but we didnt like Carnival! Very generic and cafeteria!
Mind you, I'm eleven years out of the travel industry and a lot has happened in the intervening years, but back when I was working Carnival was regarded as more of a "plain wrap" product. Different lines target different markets; Carnival's appeal was to the younger, inexperienced cruisers looking for a party experience. My gut reaction is that if you've cruised before on Royal Caribbean (and again, this is based upon my last industry experience; Carnival may have upgraded since then) you'll very likely find Carnival a step in the opposite direction.

Thanks for all of your advice. I can't wait to go on my cruise. I'm sure I will love Royal Caribbean.

Went on Carnival in 1988, thought it was fun and good (I was young and a cruise virgin).
Went on NCL in 2000 and loved it!!! Carnival was the dumps compared to this one.
Went on RC in 2001 and loved it as well. We were on "Majesty of the Seas". It compared to NCL.
What ship are you sailing? Have fun!!
