I am looking for a salad recipe that would be good for the upcoming fall months. If anyone knows of one please post it! Thanks for your help!

What kind of salad did you have in mind? Greens? Mixed vegetables? Pasta? Main course with protein (i.e., meat, fish, eggs, cheese, etc.)? Beans and grains?

I am looking for a salad that would be good for a starter. Something not too heavy. Other than that it doesn't really matter!

Wow, there are so many different kinds of salads that it's hard to know where to start! Why not begin by looking at the CL salad recipes on this site? Just type "salad" into the Recipe Finder box and see what comes up. Also take a look at the Epicurious site ( www.epicurious.com (http://www.epicurious.com) ), in particular the Browse part of the Recipe File, where you can start with "Salads" and narrow down. (The initial result is over 1000 recipes!) The salad page I came up with is at: http://food.epicurious.com/run/recipe/browse?this=course&course=SALAD

There have been previous threads about favorite salads. Technically you should be able to click on "search", type in salad and find all the threads - however, this function is not working for me (I find all the threads, but it won't open them for me) - but try it, maybe you'll have better luck!

In the meantime, if you have problems finding the old threads, here's a link for a recipe that I like that makes a nice starter.

We've been enjoying a salad made simply of washed baby spinach (not the tough kind) with sliced white mushrooms, sometimes tossed with a little arugula or shredded carrot or whatever is handy. I like a simple vinaigrette and my husband likes honey-mustard dressing on it. It's a nice change from "lettuce and tomato" but still easy, light and nutritious.

Andrea

I have a wonderful toasted goat cheese salad that's made with a goat cheese log and a vinagrette dressing (etc!!). It's fairly easy and everyone who's ever had it loves it. Although it's yummy I don't classify it as quite a "fall" salad, it's really more of an "anytime" salad. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll post the recipe!!
