Thanks Stacy!!
CRAZY week/weekend for me!!! I did get to do Pump, Jump and Jab on Friday - nothing Saturday as we flew around from event to event... Sunday I walked (or rather fought the wind!) only did 3miles b/c of the wicked wind.
Yesterday I did Power Half Hour and today I took Jack with me on a power walk. We walked for 45 mins. I need to clear my pedometer so I can figure out how far we're walking. He needs to start to get in shape for spring soccer so I figured we could walk together - bond a bit :)
I feel better - I've lost that extra 3 lbs that has been hanging around since I hurt my toe at Thanksgiving!!! BTW part of the toe is still black (smilie face with a grin ) smilies not working.
Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Okay -- Back for more! I stayed quite active over the weekend. KPC on Saturday and STS Disc #3 Legs, the band Stretch Max, and a walk on Sunday. Monday was Drill Max and Ab Circuits weights and plates. And today was STS #4 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps.
Valerie -- I'll be glad to continue the commentary on STS. Hopefully, I won't be too boring! ;) There's also a thread on Cathe's board under the STS forum. Cathe's doing this rotation and starting a new thread for each disc. Adoration aside, it might give you more info, too. As expected #3 Legs was my least favorite so far -- but that's probably no surprise, is it? It was tough but in a good way, though. I did the paper plate moves with no weight at all because I was concerned about balance. I think they'll take a little getting used to. I was sore after the workout but the soreness wasn't in my quads like usual -- it was in the glutes (which hasn't happened in a long time) and hamstrings. Disc #4 was Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I went heavier on chest and biceps because I don't have weights in the increments recommended (we went from 60% of 1RM to 65% with this workout). Again, tons of pushups. Started with a drop set of 50 then other sets/types throughout the workout. I did them all on my knees. I was afraid that if I did even some of them on my toes, that I'd burn out completely and wouldn't be able to finish all the reps. All the workouts so far seem to move along very quickly. I rarely look at the clock and if I do, I'm surprised that there's only a short time left.
SueK -- Glad you enjoyed your step workout! Which one did you try? I agree that she's a great instructor -- I get a lot of energy from her. Watch out though, collecting her workouts can become an obsession!
Hope you're all sweatin'!

Charisse -- We were posting at the same time! I hear you about that bonding time. My walk on Sunday was a family walk. We've been trying to do that at least once over the weekend. We all really enjoy it! Kyle did the first 20 minutes of KPC with me on Saturday. It was fun to do together and got him moving a little bit. Kudos on the three pounds -- way to go!!!! I'd love to see the scale move down a bit but I'm trying not to dwell on it.
Hi Stacy and Charisse and all that follow!
I posted on last week's thread that I did my new Cathe step DVD and I love it! I ordered another today, a level up, cause I'm confident I'll reach that point. :) I've been doing arms and abs, too.
I already decided I'm skipping Thursday because I'll be up late tomorrow night watching Top Chef ;) so I'll get a good workout in tomorrow morning.
Sounds like our temps will warm up to the high 40s/low 50s this week, so perhaps I will get in a nice walk outside unless it rains.

my week has been totally fubared as most of you know, but I did manage to get arms and abs in on Saturday and some decent cardio in this morning (45 mins on the elliptical). Tomorrow I will do chest/back and cardio and let the rest of my week dictate the amount of exercise I get.
Thank you to all of you for your support and positive energy over on my other thread. I really appreciate it :)

Hello, hello, hello! Haven't been very enthused lately, but due to DH's femur break on Happy Heart Day, I'll be enthused now!
Firstly I think this is the first day since DH's surgery (Feb. 15) I've sat down for more than a 2 hour stretch. Up, down, up, down, get water, do laundry, haul groceries, etc. I got a lot of working out in over the last week just by doing household chores and running errands (everday I have been looking for an excuse to walk somewhere -- tonight, library). So I think I may have shed a pound or two over the week.
Secondly, DH's doctor doesn't anticipate PT for his healing. Because he's not in a cast, he can move his leg, knee, ankle, etc. and so the doctor has encouraged any and all movement in his leg while he's at home. So here is my enthusiastic home workout for the next 6 weeks or so: leg exercises. I told DH I'd do the exercises with him.
Because of the break and because DH is not very mobile, I have altered our diet just a tad to include a lot more veggies and a lot less fat. DH has cut way back on the sweets and is requesting more vegetable dishes (gotta love the medication). So this will be my workout for a bit besides my getting outdoors on my walks/errands. Luckily the weather here is improving and though it's supposed to get colder this week, it's nothing like the bone-chilling, sub-zero temperatures of a month or so ago.

Josie - I haven't been on the boards much this week - so not sure what's going on but I hope you're hanging in there!!!
Sue - Which Cathe DVD do you have and which did you buy? did you see I became a fan
Emilie - ouch ouch ouch!!! You are so good to exercise with him and modify the diet!!;) Way to go!
Kristi - I don't know where you find the time to do what you do!!! Great workouts!!
I had to squeeze in a workout before taking Sam to practice. So I did Power Half Hour again. This is a great 30 mins sweaty workout - Great weights and challenging cardio! Tomorrow is supposed to be mild so hopefully Jack and I can walk again.
Yay - it's Wednesday!!!:)

Josie -- Glad to see you check in and hear that you're trying to stay with it as best you can. Take care of yourself.
Charisse -- Good job squeezing that workout in! Enjoy the nice weather. It was beautiful here today. Kyle & I went to play tennis after I picked him up from school. Didn't really have time but did it anyway. We had a blast!
Emilie -- Good to see you! So sorry to hear about DH's leg - sounds painful. Great plan to help him and yourself while he's recovering!
Kristi -- Did you end up getting any of the Cardio Coach workouts?
I did Cardio Coach volume 2 again today but repeated the first challenge to add a little more time to it. I jogged 3 miles today! Hurray!

I decided to get them when I move my walks inside. It says they're more suited to the treadmill.
We're having perfect weather so I have to take advantage. It'll get too hot in July or so.
I did see my first rattlesnake of the season yesterday. :)
I think next week instead of the walk I'm going to climb mountain trails. I haven't done one in a while so this should be interesting

Kristi - I think rattlesnakes might deter me a little! The mountain trails sound fun!
I've got a few days to catch up on....Thursday was disc #5 of STS -- back & tricpes. Tough workout but good. The warm-up was similar (if not exactly the same) as disc #2. That threw me off for a while -- I even pulled out the disc to make sure I had the correct one in the dvd player. Friday I did Cardio Kicks and today was STS disc 6, legs. Very tough workout but of course, I always think leg workouts are the hardest. Again, the warm-up was the same as the other leg workout. It didn't bother me this time, I guess because I kind of expected it. I couldn't do the sit and stands at all - had to use my other foot to help balance. Paper plate moves went better but I still didn't use any weight. I also did the Pilate-style abs and the Stretch Max band workout. Whew!! Tomorrow is a much needed rest day!!!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
