I'll get things started mostly cause I stuck to plan and did Drillmax on friday.:D Parts are so hard .... just can't do the fancy footwork on the step so I try to step up and down, jump off and on, and keep moving til that part is over.
Saturday we did heavy duty yardwork.. bought a bunch of landscape bricks.. they weight 75 lbs each, and we ended up moving each a couple times, plus we hauled in the vegie garden supplies, and darned if all those bags don't weigh 25-50 lbs at least. I buy them and need to unload them from the truck, and then we both carry them the rest of the way to the garden.... so, good upper body workout. I found I could carry them much more easily than I any previous year. sunday I did 20 bike, 35 treadmill, 20 elliptical and coremax 1.
Today, I'll do some cardio and probably GS chest/triceps.
Hope every one had a good weekend. we had a weather reversal and got SNOW. that is definitely a 4 letter word this late in the season. roads are a mess.
hopefully the sign in issues are over with! another thread said there were some hacking problems at the time warner servers so maybe that was related.

Valerie -- Thanks for starting us off this week! Can I just say I hate daylight savings time????? It seems like it take me forever to get used to the time change. Good job on Drillmax! I know what you mean about the foot work -- I can't do the fast feet, either. I'm really afraid I would fall and hurt my ankle. Those lanscape bricks sound brutal! We put in a small retaining wall several years ago. DH and I did it together (without fighting, I might add :D) and I STILL remember how sore my bi & tris were. And they weren't eve close to 75 lbs!!! It's wonderful when you can see the gains you've made just in everyday life. I can't believe you had more snow!! Yuck. I'm eagerly waiting for things to warm up. We should have lots of rain this week and it will be cold again. We so desperately need the rain! Then it should warm up....fingers crossed.
Saturday I did STS disc #9 Legs. It was a killer. I don't know why but I just felt wiped out. Finished the workout but it wasn't very pretty. I took off Sunday and Monday but did STS disc #10 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps this morning. It felt really good. I can still go up on my weights for chest and biceps. The shoulder ones were right on the money and even a little too tough. Can't image what shoulders will be like with the next mesocycle. Lots of pushups again to day but I really see some improvement so it's kind of fun.
Who's next?

gosh, I didn't even notice the switch this time. DH changed the clocks and that was it. Sounds like you are making great progress with STS. I still haven't decided if I should go for it or not. sometimes too many choices aren't good for me.
I do fast feet, it's the step moves with "repeaters" and "around the world" , off the side, off the back, etc. just can't do that kind of thing, too dancey and if I turn away from the screen, I'm totalled.
Yesterday was 20 bike and 20 treadmill, and then due to the snow my upper body workout was shoveling the entire parking pad and driveway. it is a LOT. today I went to yoga and will
dgo GS legs and maybe GS triceps.
Every year we get the same supplies. I used to have trouble with the 50 lb bags of lime. they're not that big but are dense and I used to have difficulty pulling them out of the truck and moving them to our shed. It was noticeably easier than last year.... I wasn't juggling them or anything but just not as difficult to manage.
the landscape bricks( sign said 75#) didn't seem that heavy but if you drop one on your foot, it'll all be over. Our wall is only 1 to 3 bricks high so we don't have to lift them anywhere, just carry from the truck and wiggle to position. I love how they look!

I'll bite.
Valerie isn't it nice when an "everyday" activity is also a workout?
I'm geared up to wheel DH to the train and home this evening. There's a HUGE ramp in the train station that's a killer, and so far I've always had help pushing him up the ramp. Though I'd like to think I can do it myself, even doing half the job gets my heart rate up.
Been doing 3 sets of planks at 1 minute each while DH does his leg exercises.
Taking the stairs at work (to the 4th floor, down to the 3rd floor, down to the lobby, back up again).
I guess that's it for me!

Emilie - you must be glad that the snow/ice is over!!! Pushing your DH through that must be brutal!!
Valerie - I'm jealous of your 50lb bags!! I keep telling myself - soon!! Another month for us. And I love Cathe's "around the worlds" - one day I will slip and land on my chin!!:p
Stacy - you totally rock! I can't believe your workouts! Good for you.
Well I finally got my 6 miles in this weekend. My dogs were hurting though. I really need to make sure I do this at least 1 time a week until the end of April. We did it in under 2 hours - so we should be more than fine with our 6 hour limit.
I didn't get anything in yesterday and today I only squeezed in Cathe's ab work from Cardio and Weights and some push ups. Hoping for a good cardio/weight workout tomorrow. Sam's practice has been cancelled.

Hey ladies... just wanted to check in and report that I am lurking around, actually envious of exercising. I have a little over another week of no exercise, but I may start doing some sloooowww walking at the end of this week. I need to do something to help me sleep and make me feel more normal.
I assume it is the deviated septum part of the surgery that really knocked me on my butt, but ****, I wish I would finish healing!! I haven't slept regular hours or been on a normal schedule in so long... it is making me a little kooky.

Hey Josie!
Good to know you're on the road... just take the time to get that noggin back in working order!!:)
I did Pump, Jump and Jab today. I'm really feeling out of shape - yuck. I just need to be more consistent!!!

hey Josie.. good to hear you're back and doing well. Enjoy your week or so off of exercise. You'll rebound quickly!
Emilee.. I 've concluded that planks, as much as I don't much like them, are really incredibly beneficial exercises. Anyone who wants to do pushups should work hard on planks first. I'm also a stair climber. those little bits of real world exercise are good not to skip.
charsse I am SUCH a klutz on a step  and have to go slow so I don't trip. a huge aggravation,,,, I envy anyone who can do those steps. too much for me and my uncoordinated feet. Keep up the walking practice and be critical about socks and shoes and things for blister control. test different combos to see what works. check for areas of hot spots and protect them ahead of time. one sock or two, or a thin and thick. and maybe take an extra pair so you can change mid way.
I've done Ok here. did yoga class early and then GS chest/triceps tuesday , followed by the standing half of GS legs. I jumped to 12 lbs on chest triceps from 10 on most moves and didn't notice it. the next jump to 15 will be a killer I'm afraid. soon.
again, trouble signing in this morning.

christinew, we have a Precor elliptical for 5 years. It was around $3000. there are two of us and we use it a lot.
I would go to exercise equipment stores and try out all units for comfort, ease of use, and to see if they're made well. we tried some that didn't fit us well..we're both short. when you spend TIME on something , it has to be well made and fit you. there used to be a web site that had reviews of treadmills and ellipticals and even consumer reports sometimes has something. I'll see if I can find it.
I would not order something like this mail order. It's easy to spend $600 and get junk that won't hold up to actual use. you want a store to go to if something doesn't work or you need service. we've had service multiple times on 2 treadmills and once or twice on the elliptical.
Wednesday DH and I wqent on a fabulous xc ski. it was 3 hours up and about 1.5 hours back. a beautiful sunny day, lovely fresh snow and actually the best ski we've had all year. Thursday was a day off. friday will be determined when I get to the workout room and see what's calling to me! hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
