I made some recipes this weekend and for the most part, had great results...the best was the Linguine w/two sauces - this comes from the CL Complete Cookbook. I also made the One Bowl, One Whisk black/white snack cake from August 2001. This was very good and I will definitely repeat. I also made the Smashed Potato and Broccoli Casserole from the CL Complete. Was rather disappointed, but I think I made a few errors (cooked potatoes too long, chopped the broccoli too fine and cut the onions too small)...the best way to describe it was slop. I will try it again because it did have good flavor and just make sure I have larger pieces of veggies.

Julie, be sure to try the casserole again, it is an excellent recipe.
Larger sized vegetables will work much better.

I've made the Fresh-from-the Garden Salad twice now. It is SPECTACULAR visually and the flavor and textures are excellent.

THe first time I doubled the recipe and took it to a potluck where it was one of 2 salads. It was so beautiful that folks started asking for the recipe before they even tasted it. That time I substituted red peppers for the yellow ones.

The second time I took it to a family meal with several young children. I held out the chopped onion from a portion, to anticipate picky eaters, otherwise both portions were the same.

The only change I made was to extend the cooking times a bit to get the texture just right. At our 4000 ft altitude boiling does take a bit longer since the temp is less than 212 .f:D
