View Full Version : Do you like this new OT board?

I don't! Maybe this has been discussed (I've been on vacation) but I liked having the "quirkly" stuff mixed in with the food stuff! If you weren't interested in the OT you could skip over it, if you were you could just open it up. Why the change? My BB time is limited (as I'm sure is true for most of you) and this requires extra time and extra steps. Maelynn????

Gaye, I just topped the discussion we had when this board was born. :)
PS- I do like it now but it took some getting used to. There are still threads on the food board that are completely off topic but now I have 3 boards to look through instead of 2!

Actually, I do kind of like the OT board. Maybe some people don't check this BB...I don't know. But I always check all 3 boards to see if there is anything new. I think it also gives us the opportunity to post things that we wouldn't have posted otherwise. I was kind of hesitant to post things on the food board if I thought they were way OT.

I wasn't thrilled with the new board at first, but now I'm used to checking all 3 boards. Sometimes I have more time than others, so on short days I only check the good food board. There are still OT posts on the other board, I don't mind-I usually read them if they apply to me. Besides, most posters post in both places, It seems that no one thinks that anyone will check the OT board.
I do think they should have left it 'as is', especially from the poll results.

Despite my initial resistance to the addition of a third board, I figured I'd get used to it; I have and I am now very happy to have this one. I think the posts on Great Food stay around longer, because they aren't being bumped down by OT threads. Similarly, because there are fewer posts on this and the Healthy Living board, the threads get more responses- by virtue of being more visible. I routinely check this board, along with the other two- there is no shortage of interesting things to read!
Like Chrisi, I'm glad to have a forum to post things that don't fit on either GF or HL without having to worry about exasperating anyone with my random rambles!

I like the new boards. As someone else mentioned it keeps the food board from moving quite so speedily, and people seem more willing to post things that are a lot more 'off topic,' so there's more to talk about.
As for the convenience factor, I just click the 'View new threads' option and can see what's active on all the boards at the same time.
Very handy. :)

I was one of the people who voted against a separate board, but now that it's here, I like it.

I agree with just about everyone! I resisted in the beginning, but now don't mind it at all. At least we don't have to preface the topic with apologies... :D

I was a little skeptical too (though I didn't voice that at the time - I'm one of those non-committal types) but I like having it separate now. I like knowing that I'm going to get all food related topics in one place and non-food here. I also like that I don't have to decipher what is on-topic and what is off as much either. I know the "OT" in the thread title was there in most cases, but this just seems more organized. Just my 2 cents...

I voted for it and have you noticed that the Healthy Living board gets a lot more use now than it was. I really like going over to the food board and not having to dig through 3-4 pages before finding the start of the days topics - especially since its already usually 1pm EST when I get here.

I really don't like separating the boards. I was totally against it; but like most of you I am living with it.
The problem as I see it is that a lot of the bb'ers are still not posting here and aren't even looking here.
Perhaps in time........
