I had some of her workouts recorded on my DVR but it keeps going out so I'd like to buy one or two of her DVDs. Why are they so expensive???? Like $40! Sheesh - especially since I'd like at least 2 for variety.

Anyone sick of a Cathe dvd and want to sell to me? ;) Weights only, no cardio.

I'm especially interested in the slow and heavy, supersets or pyramid workouts.

I looked at eBay and even those are up high unless you want to bid. Which I don't.

If nothing else, I guess I know what I can put on my birthday list for this year. ;)

Check the video fitness forums. They do a swap but someone might want to sell a negected DVD.

They also keep a running "hall of shame" thread for posters who don't fufill their end of the bargain. :D

Alysha, many of cathe's disks have more than one workout on them, like the ones for $45. I don't own it but I believe Super Sets and Push and Pull are two complete workouts on one disk. KPC comes with Legs & Glutes workout.

I don't have others disks to compare, but I USE her stuff. Cathe's is 1st rate and although this is personal, I don't find her 'annoying' like some other instructors. I started by copying some of her stuff off TV until I was sure I'd use it and then started "investing".

I agree, it's an investment but I'm like Valerie -- I really use them. They are worth every penny. Even DH doesn't complain although I may be pushing my luck on the tower!!

I have ordered from in the past and been happy. Sometimes she's a little cheaper than Cathe's site or amazon (but the ones you want at still $40).

I bought my gradually over the last year and a half. And I will never miss another presale! They are usually about a third cheaper at that time.

Yeah, Slow and Heavy is 3 complete workouts, so if she sold them separately (as she's been doing recently), you'd be paying $20-$25 for each.

The Pyramids are two workouts, too -- upper and lower.

Also, check out the Gym Styles, which are great DVDs. Those three workouts are sold individually.

Like Valerie and srahndennis, I use my Cathe DVDs almost exclusively. I preordered the Hardcore series back in 2005, and haven't missed a preorder since! I've gradually added DVDs to my collection, and now have all but Supersets/Push-Pull and a couple older ones.

They are expensive, but they are worth every penny!!

Thanks for the feedback.

I know they'll be worth it but it's kinda hard to shell out $80 at one time when there's a gym down the road I can join for several months for that price! ;)

Maybe I'll buy one now and ask for one for my birthday. My MIL and my Mom always bug me for a list.

I love the swap idea but I'm afraid I don't have much to swap. Maybe an old Cher step workout. :o :o

Cathe.com also sells gift cards, so you could ask for gift cards in case you're still not sure what you want ;)

I hear you on the cost of the DVD vs. the gym. For me, my laziness won out. When we moved and I suddenly had to drive to the gym (it had been a 1 block walk), I knew I wouldn't go anymore. So the $350/year wasn't worth it anymore.

I've invested more than that in my weights and step/high step and DVDs, but I use them -- and it's been over the course of a 4 years.

On the other hand, my gym membership card would be collecting dust :o
