BA's Cabbage and Corn Slaw recipe has been mentioned in several threads with rave reviews so I've gotta try it. This is probably a "no duh" question for most of you, but do you cut the corn off the cob and toss it in raw? I don't know if I've ever used corn without cooking it first so I thought I'd double-check since I am going to be bringing this dish to a party.
Thanks!

I love that recipe. I cut the corn right off the cob and I don't cook it. I typically use some good frozen corn instead (I like Trader Joes) since I make it year round. Plus, saves me time since all I need to do is defrost the corn and toss in.
I don't know if summer corn is more tender than what's available now. I do know that many recipes (ie black bean salads) call for raw corn. And when I use fresh corn, I always use it right off the cob. I know some might cook it anyway.
Hope you enjoy it. It's one of my favorites.
