I am making a cake today, but my recipe only says that it yields 2 cups of frosting. I have 2 9-inch rounds...will this be enough frosting for this cake or do I need to make extra? I have enough ingredients for a double recipe if needed.

I use a lot more than that but it really depends how you ice, how thick your rounds are, and if you need it for the filling. Because my cakes are usually 4-5 inches high (I always torte) and I also need icing for a border I need at least twice as much. If you just want a thin layer I think it will be enough.

I was going to use it between the layers, they are about 1.25 inches tall (yes I measured) :)
