Enfamil Next Step

I am really more curious about this more than anything.

Does anyone use this product? It is really annoying to think I am getting a regular enfamil coupon, but no, it is for this next step. We are currently making the transition to whole milk, but we were sent a free sample of this that I would like to use during this process (instead of buying another can).

I just keep forgetting to ask my doctor about it, and just wondered if this was clever marketing or had some actual purpose.

I think part of it is a marketing ploy. I have a friend that switched simply because she received a free sample and then started getting the coupons for it. The doctor said it was fine for the meeantime but when her son turned a year he preferred she switched over to milk.

It claims to have more iron and other vitamins than milk and it has that Lipil in it. I thought it might be for those that are allergic to milk, but it says it is milk-based, so it looks as if they are marketing it as a replacement.

We just asked our DR about the Similac Next Step at our 1 year appt. She said we can use it if we "want to waste our money." I've been using a combo of both whole milk and the Next Step formula....mainly b/c my DH is convinced the formula has more nutrients.....and I am appeasing him....

I used it from 9 months to 1 year (because it is cheaper), but I'm switching to whole milk now. I think it's a ploy to get you to buy formula for another year.
