OK, so I've made a new concoction that I think is awesome, and I want to share it with my awesome friends. I had a sandwich at a deli that had turkey, swiss, avocado and bacon (and other "regular" sandwich stuff), and it was great...but then I refined it and made it spectacular.

I baked some bacon with a glaze of maple syrup, brown sugar and mae ploy (Asian sweet chili sauce). Yes, that's a heart attack right there, but it gets better. :D Then I made a spread with half an avocado, a chunk of cream cheese and a bit more mae ploy.

So on whole-grain bread, I spread the mixture (I put a bit on each slice), and then I put on the bacon, deli turkey and swiss. Oy, such flavors!! I'm not big on lettuce or tomatoes on sandwiches, but my son thinks they sound good.

Oh, and how good would that be on a croissant or an everything bagel?!? Like I said, sounds totally weird, but it's really a delightful summer sandwich. And I think it would also be good rolled into a tortilla and sliced for appetizers.

Hi Susan...

You know what's also bizarre?

That I don't think those flavors are bizarre! Sounds like it would work to me!

Sweet, hot, spicy, creamy - nice layering of flavors. Now I'm wondering if a cucumber layer would be nice with it!

As they say on the PBS Create Channel - "It was creation happening".

Hi Susan,
I really do like your creations. I have been fixing one of them in particular for years...a Taco Filling creation of yours, I fix it all the time and my family loves it too. Anytime I see you as the poster I open it to see what you've done now!:p
This concoction looks good!
Thanks, Carolyn

Carolyn, that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time! For the life of me, I can't remember the taco filling you're talking about, tho...I hope you don't have me confused with one of the other wonderful Susans who are so creative!

Thanks for a much-needed and much-appreciated pat on the back. :D:D:D
