We are a supper club in Austin, Texas that is looking for some new members! We have had several people move out of state, and would like to swell our ranks once again.

Here are the details: We meet once/month on a Saturday evening, rotating among members' houses. However, apartment-dwellers are welcome, and we don't expect you to host if you don't have room for everyone (we have one member who just recently moved into a house and hosted her first event). Our age range is from late 20s to 60-ish, professionals of various types. We are mostly couples, but have one regular single woman, and would welcome couples or singles. We live as far south as Buda and as far north as far NW Austin. We typically do not cook together, but cook at home and bring the food to the host's house.

Our next supper is 8/22 in south Austin (Oak Hill area) -foods eaten cold (or room temp).

Please e-mail me with any questions.

Hi,
Can you tell me more about your supper club? My husband and I attempted to join a supper club two years ago, but then life just got in the way. Before moving to Austin, we were part of a supper club and really enjoyed it. We'd really like to get back into a monthly supper club.
Thanks,
Catherine

What else would you like to know? I guess I left out what types of actual food we have had...we have done many dinners with a theme of a certain country (German, Italian, Chinese, Greek, South American, etc.). The theme is just a way to narrow down recipe choices a bit - the the food is always good no matter what - so we don't agonize over it too much.

In December we typically deliver food to the Ronald McDonald house, then have a cocktail party with appetizers instead of a full dinner afterward. A couple of times we have gone out for dim sum.

We don't stick to "light" cooking overall, although we frequently have some dishes that are Cooking Light recipes. Most of the members enjoy wine, so we typically have several bottles of wine to choose from. One of the members makes delicious homebrew and often brings that to share. Not everyone in the group drinks alcohol, though.

No one in the group has children at home, so we prefer an adullts-only gathering.

There is currently a core group of 9 people, after losing some people to new jobs in other states.

Would you like to give us a try on Aug 22?
