Happy New Week!!! And what a big week....school started yesterday!!! Didn't workout so I could walk with DS to school. This is the last year of elementary school so it was extra special. DS had a great day - always a relief. Likes his teach and made a couple new friends - nice since none of best buds are in his class. First baseball practice last night, too. So a very busy day!
Last week of Cathe's August rotation. Today was STS Meso 3 Disc 1 -- Chest & Back. This was great! I was a little worried about how I would do jumping back into this but it was no problem. Benched 55 pounds again!!! It was tough but not too tough. I'm sure I'll be sore....
Charisse - How's school going for you guys? Getting back into the swing of things? This year they changed our bell schedule to DS has to be at school 15 mintues earlier - tardy at 7:45.
Valerie -- Hope you're enjoying the new truck and camper!

Checking in with 40 minutes on the treadmill this morning. A short steady state but I'm really proud of myself. I ran for 15 minutes at 4.5 then the other 15 minutes at 4.7. Not fast but most people's standards but lightning speed by mine! :D Who knows??? Maybe I'll get to 5!!!
Saw the podiatrist today. She cracked me up. First thing, she looks at my shoes and says that I need to replace them. I told her that I just bought them! She said that it looks like there's about six months of wear on them....and I think I bought them in April when my knee started bothering me. So -- need new inserts AND new shoes.

Back from our maiden voyage and it was a huge success. not that a few things didn't go WAY wrong ...what would a vacation be if something didn't get screwed up! first place was so awful we didn't stay, second destination we got rerouted because of a forest fire. but the truck/camper set up is fantastic. everything works, handles well, and is a huge step up from previous. it's so nice to get to a camping area, park and get in... no set up process, just turn things on as needed. room for us to sit at a table, room to cook without running into each other. the frig keeps things cool without freezing the lettuce. the bed is comfortable and almost a room it's so open feeling with two windows and a skylight. I don't know if you ( stacy & charisse) camp but we view camping as the only reasonable way to overnight near where we want to hike. this trip we did 3 hikes and a bike ride in 4 days.
With young kids, camping is more about the campground and the campfire and roasting marshmallows. we adults want a decent place to sleep close to trailheads.
I don't remember when I reported my activity, but I did treadmill, GS chest/ triceps. bike ride sunday, and 3 hikes the next 3 days. today, can't decide.
Too funny about your shoes Stacy. DH is not a big guy but his shoes look beat up in under a month. I can wear mine for 2 years and they still look like new. so looks don't always tell the truth. we both keep a record of mileage so we change up to new gear at appropriate intervals. and some brands of shoes hold up better than others.

Hey, Valerie! Glad you're back -- it's been lonely 'round here. ;) Happy to hear your trip was a good one. Coudn't help but think of the postal service creed....."Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will keep Valerie and her DH from their camping trip!" :D We have camped but it's always been tent camping. We really do enjoy it but honestly, with the limited amount of time we have, it's such a beating to pack, haul & unpack everything that I'd rather not bother. I can certainly relate to "camper heaven".
I looked at when I bought my shoes -- it was in May. They are only 3 1/2 months old. I'm going to hold off a couple of months. No surprise that I'm hard on shoes but I'm not going to replace them quarterly!
Well, my rear end is feeling plyo legs! Wow. Glad today was not a cardio day! Did STS Meso 3, week 1 shoulders, biceps and triceps - felt good.
Happy Friday everyone!

Stacy, you're totally right about plugging onward against adversity. Gosh, sunday was a long day. Our fault 'cause we assumed sunday night in Manning would be reasonable. It was not. mileage to choice 2 was not ridiculous but not a fast road and we'd planned an 'easy" day. this turned out to be anything but.
We've gradually worked our way up the hill...used to tent camp...great in backcountry but you're at the mercy of everyone else with their noise, fires, generators, screaming kids, barking dogs. first step was the pop up camper... it's basically a frame with canvas sides.
weather .. always an issue with outdoor activities... pop up is small without many features. a week was about all I could stand. Motor homes (or things you tow) limit you to bigger roads with turn arounds. This was the right choice for us and will make camping in spring/fall/winter much more comfy.
I took a day off yesterday. today i'll do a half hour cardio and then GS back biceps.
Hey charisse... let us know how much fun it was going back to school,
