Happy Monday!! Just starting us off! Another busy, busy weekend. I did manage to do KCM's step boxing on Saturday. It's a fun workout. Took off on Sunday and didn't get up this morning. I'll have to kick it in gear!!! Baseball game tonight so no chance of working out this afternoon. I'll do better tomorrow. Who's next?

Well, my third Monday in a row of getting up early. Even though I said I was going to stick to the same routine for one more week, I went ahead and added an extra 15 minutes this morning. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical, 10 minutes on the treadmill, and spent 15 minutes doing about 8 different upper body exercises with 3, 5 and 10 pound dumb bells.
I'm still feeling good about it and it's starting to feel like a normal routine. Hoping I get back up tomorrow morning!!

More "valerie's medical report". Had to have a head CT friday because I a headache for 6 days that was getting worse. Turned out normal and I'm now off the med that probably caused it. Took friday and sat off. sunday I did bike for 10, treadmill for 35, and coremax #3. I still am not supposed to do any serious upper body work, although normal arm motions are fine. just no heavy weights.
Today I'll do something similar.
Shugness, congrats on getting up and doing what needed to be done today!.
Stacy, have you given thought to repeating STS or is it just oo much during the school year? I was all hot to start it in october but I'm being thwarted! Now I'm thinking November. In addition, I'll need to be very careful wearing any kind of pack for several months.. actually need to be careful forever.. since my latest problem started because of pressure over the front of my left shoulder.
chariisse, check in and let us know how you're doing.
Hi ladies! I'm dropping by after being MIA for awhile again. You'd think I'd have more time now that both girls are in school, but I've been busy.
I've been continuing my usual regimen of either treadmill or Cathe step aerobics, with lifting every other day. My workouts seem boring compared to you guys and I guess I need to put some variety in the mix, especially since the cold weather is upon us and that means no more early morning walks/runs!
I'm currently supposed to be dialing down the workouts due to some health concerns. I've been having blood pressure issues for a few months, and now have been experience short episodes of blurred vision and headaches. I had a baseline EKG done today, will get a full panel of bloodwork done today and another longer EKG done next Monday. Then next week I meet back with my dr about the results of the tests. He's concerned because I have a family history of BP problems (my dad had high BP, was on meds, and still died suddenly of a heart attack). So, we will see what happens. Hopefully it will just be a situation where I'll have to go on meds. Not that that thrills me, but I'm just hoping nothing more serious shows up.
Well, sorry to be a downer on the thread. I enjoy reading about everyone's workouts!!

SueK, don't feel uncomfortable reporting medical issues. they directly affect how and whether you can exercise at all. I've made this my "medical report" on more than one occasion. I think I'm over the latest hump but am on anticoagulation for a couple months. Hopefully it will be uneventful.
Good luck with the BP business. Hope things work... DH has BP issues (bad family hx) and he exercises in the am before he takes his meds and that works for him. there are lots of meds so if one doesn't work, another one will but sometimes it takes trials and tribulations and a doc who will work with you before things settle into something you can live with.

Sue -- Good to hear from you. Glad you're addressing the health issues. Crossing my fingers that it's nothing serious.
Valerie -- Sounds like you head is back to normal. Yea! Good job on the cardio & core. Just keep doing what you can do. Yes, I'm planning to do STS again soon. It will be tough to stick with the schedule but at the same time it might give me the extra push I need to keep at it. I did want to finish this KCM rotation first, though. And I keep getting thwarted, too! If all goes as planned, I *should* be able to start STS in November. I did get my power tower and really haven't used it much so I remedy that as well. If I'm really lucky, I'll have STS Cardio by then, too, but I'm not holding my breath.
Shugness -- Great job staying on track -- and adding on! I know how hard it is to get up early -- especially on a Monday!!
Well, I got up early today, too!!!! Re-started my KCM rotation so did the Cardio Blast Premix #2. It combines the athletic step (no dancy moves) and the plyometic workouts. Was a little tougher than it should have been. I can always tell when I've been slacking off!!
Have a great day, everyone!

Yep, trying to get back to normal. little bit at a time. still shouldn't do too much heavy arm movement... couple days yet... but yoga is fine.
went to yoga today but haven't done anything else. I've only been twice now since July and haven't lost any ground there. am going to try to get in a little treadmill time today but it's getting late and DH and I are doing a hike tomorrow so it's not real important for me to do very much today.
I'm still having some sleep issues and I'm awfully tired today. Felt like I was coming down with a headcold two mornings ago but it disappeared, lucky for me.
Stacy, maybe I can join you on STS. I would love to get back as soon as its safe and OK with my doc. Having done such a puny amount of upper body stuff since july, I want to allow a few runs of GS series as a not- quite- as- difficult conditioner. I was pleased the pushups were OK today in yoga.... nothing like the drop sets in GS but gotta start somewhere.

Valerie -- enjoy your hike today! Doing STS together sounds great. Let's see where we are in a couple of weeks. I know it would help me stay on track.
Another early day for me! Did KCM Boot Camp Strength Premix and Body Training Workout #2. Essentially, weights & floor/pilate type work. I do like that her weights are fairly fast paced so there is a cardio effect as well. Burns a few more calories -- always a good thing for me!

Successful hike!! wore a daypack with a very loose shoulder strap. The issue is straps as they go over the front of my shoulder, if snugged down, put pressure on the vein that my pacer wires run thru. It's not the pacer itself. my bicycle pack caused this issue and I have switched to a fanny pack so that will NEVER happen again. I need to be especially cautious about pack straps for the next 2 months, and cautious to some degree forever.
I ended up doing bike and elliptical on tuesday although only about 35 minutes. Today I'm starting up the GS series, back /biceps today along with some brief cardio.
