I looked at past threads and saw the Cuisinart ice cream freezer mentioned. Does anyone have the Krups. I just saw it at $19.99 and may have to get one even though I have 2 hand crank freezers.

I have a Krups and love it. It was a wedding gift, so I'm not certain of the model or price offhand. It's easy to clean and makes the ice cream pretty quickly. Mine isn't too large, but makes enough for 4 or so servings.

My guess is that Cuisinart and Krups are similar in quality. Both companies are known for very good products.

Wow! That's a great deal! I just got mine for $34 which I thought was a great deal... they're usually about $60-$65. Mine is still en route, but I've borrowed my friends and it works good.

Wow, great deal, Beth! I knew that you needed a present too! My Krups is on the way from the ourhouse.com sale. Although I'm paying $37.00 for it, it was going for $60 in the stores here.

I have had my Krups for several years--was a Christmas gift from my in-laws, but I think it was about $60. We enjoy it--easy to use, easy to clean. I agree that the canister is a bit bulky--I have freezer space in the basement, but like to keep it upstairs in the refrig/freezer so that I remember to make ice cream, etc. more often. By the way, we really liked the mango-passion fruit sorbet in the July '01 CL.:)

It is the ourhouse.com clearance page 1. I ordered that and an egg poacher insert (so I can toss thos micrawave things I've grown to hate) and a new thermometer (so I can retire the old one to aquarium duty -- for water changes, not in the aquarium) and a speatzle maker just for the heck of it.

Here's the link:

If that doesn't work, just go to www.ourhouse.com and
click on the clearance section in red right in the middle of the home page.

We have a Krups and we paid about $60 for it. I think it is much easier to handle than our old model (a Rival) and the bucket fits into our side-by-side freezer.

I ordered one too!! (I couldn't resist the $19.99!!!) And, I just saw it in the store for $59.00.

Although, I am a little bummed out that the confirmation e-mail said that sale and clearance items take one to two weeks to make it out of the warehouse. I want my new toy NOW. Can you tell patience is my best quality! :-)

I don't know if this is going to do wonders for my pre-wedding diet ! yikes.

Janet, don't know if you saw it on my other post, but I was told they put that on the kitchen items because they were anticipating having trouble keeping up with the shipping volume, but most things are still shipping out the next day. Some folks have already received items they ordered, so I don't think it will take that long.

I got the Krups just over a year ago. It works well, but I have one HUGE difficulty. I cannot get the plastic top to fit on the freezing bowl. There are three places where the plastic lid is supposed to "snap" into place, and no matter how hard I push or manipulate it, that lid just just goes in two of the three slots.

I once accidentally forgot to put the mixing or stirring utensil (or beater, whatever it's called) into the machine, and the lid actually fit nicely. But when I put it in, I could only get two-thirds of it to fit.
