I noticed before that some of you were looking at cookware. If you didn't buy then, you might want to look again. They now have a new clearance section that has items marked even lower, including a chrome food processor, some cookware sets, coffee and espresso makers. Of course, the silly cookie cutter I wanted is sold out. :D

I got an email from them the other day stating that the KA stand mixer I ordered was out of stock! I was so bummed. I'm still getting the KA food processor and food mill though.

I guess I'll have to look again. I am tempted to get a Kuhn Rihon pressure cooker or a Le Creuset French oven. I got a notice that the creme brulee torch was out of stock but that's ok because it is something that I wouldn't use frequently. Sorry to hear about your KA, Linda.
I made a double batch of zucchini bread the other day and was thinking maybe I DID need a 6qt mixer, but the Epicureans were sold out. I'd snap up an espresso maker if we hadn't bought one ealier this year, so I guess an ice cream maker would be fun. DH said go for it. All this because I was shopping for a wedding gift!

I've thought the same thing Wendy - I've had one in my hands several times, but put it back. But oh, how I love creme bruleé....
I think I'm going to get on there and order my Calphalon set. My luck it will be out of stock too!

I just ordered a Kuhn Rikon 7.5 qt. pressure cooker for $39.00! I have always wanted one and was even considering paying the $150.00 that it usually sells for as I use it frequently and my tfal is wearing out after 7 years of use. I will pray that it is still in stock.
Sandy, it just means that we are not ready for those torches. Watch out when we are!
Wendy, I just saw that too and was going to let you know. They also have a set of all-clad cookeware for $139, reg $347. They have been very quick to delete items as they are sold out (the bow cookie cutter disappeared from my shopping cart), so I think you are pretty safe on getting it if the order went through.
Also, they told me on the phone that the orders have been shipping out in one to two days, not one to two weeks. They were afraid they might not be able to keep up with the orders on this sale, but it has been going smoothly.

I just ordered this too! I really need a new set of cookware and this is a great one to build on. I will kick myself later on if I don't order it and can consider it an early birthday gift! I am owned by a bird so non stick cookware is not an option. What a great deal, thanks again, Beth!
Sandy, pretty soon, you're going to accuse me of stalking you;) !

Woo Hoo! My new toys just arrived! It's Christmas in August. I am now the proud owner of a KitchenAid Ultra Power food processor. She's a beauty! Now I need to send off for my rebate. I also got a food mill. I won't use it that much, but it will come in handy when I need it.
I can't wait for my next shipment. :D

Cool! I just order the Krups ice cream maker, an Oxo pastry blender, and a Taylor digital thermometer. I can't believe the price on that ice cream maker!!! I can't wait to get it and try out some of these yummy-sounding recipes. Although I can almost feel myself gaining weight just thinking about all the ice cream I'll be eating soon

OK, now you people have me doing it!! DH and I were looking at possibly a convection/toaster oven to save energy and to keep from heating the entire oven just to warm up a 1/2 loaf of bread or a slice of pizza! I do NOT have the counter space for a toaster oven unless I lose something off my counter...and I decided last night that the oak bread box would bite the dust!!
Well, I just did it....and now I'm wondering if I should!! I went in and bought the Cuisinart Convection/Toaster/Broiler. Regular price was $199 and I got it for $59!! Just seemed way too good a deal to pass up!! It's a bit smaller than some of the others, but it's got all the features, and it's digital even!!
Will someone maybe tell me what is so good about convection? I've heard of it but never studied it! Did I get a good deal?? Thanks! :D

I'm sorry that your kitchenaid is out of stock..and I don't know if you're willing to look at something else..but, Williams Sonoma has the Kenwood on sale for something like 215.00..they usually sell up around 400 if I remember right..supposedly little powerhouses 615 watts, 7 qt bowl..I asked when I was in SD a week or so ago...one woman that works there said that she caterers has had both and prefers the kenwood...Ive read a lot of positive stuff about them on the web as well. I just got a new one myself or I would seriously look at it myself.

What do you guys use a pressure cooker and a food mill for? Do I need these things?
I remember when I was young my Mom using a pressure cooker for beef stew but that was it. I could have everything if I had more space!

Jewel,
I know nothing about convection ovens, but you will be so grateful for this little wonder when it's time to roast garlic, or toast bagels, or reheat a piece of pizza............I think you'll be very pleased you got it!

Yay! I ordered the Krups ice cream maker last night. I was holding out until my Bday to get a Cuisinart, but the Krups deal was too good to pass up. It was soooo hard to pass up on the All-Clad sets, tho;) I'm glad I can now make all the wonderful recipes that have been floating around this board for months!

kyle...if you can swing it..get the All Clad..mine is about 15 years old, looks like new, and cooks like a dream! I should take my own advice..I've been hedging on the pressure cooker ..never worked with one, but all the comments abot the here make it hard not to give it a shot if only for the experience.

Thanks for the tip, Karen. I probably better hold off for now since I spent so much money at ourhouse.com! :D

I'm a bit peeved! 2 of the 3 items I ordered are now selling for pennies on the dollar from what I paid last week-- the Krups ice cream maker and the carving set. The cost difference on these two items is 49 American dollars. I just sent them an e-mail and asked them to refund me the difference.
lisas3575, the first thing I did when I saw this post was check the prices on what I ordered, and then I looked for new things to buy. Nothing I purchased was marked down again. I would have been upset also. I would like to know if you get a response and what they say. I think a reputable company would refund your money. Please let me know how this turns out. Thanks.
I don't know about Canadian law, but in the US, if the items were still available, I'd be tempted to refuse the first shipment and dispute the credit card charge as a cancelled order. Unfortunatley, the ice cream maker is already sold out. I don't know about the carving set.
Given that this is a closeout, all sales final, we don't care about customer service just get it out the door kind of deal, I would be surprised if they refunded the difference, but it can't hurt to ask. If you don't get a refund, you may be a bit chapped, but remember they were great deals to begin with.
I didn't look at the little gadgets snd such the first time. Just after I ordered, I realized they had something else I wanted, but there was no way to cancel and reorder, change the first order or even get an accomodation on the shipping charge. I was pretty ticked too. I wound up placing a second order though -- lost out on cookie cutters and got an ice cream maker the kids will definitely enjoy more (I have other cookie cutters).

Here's their response:
Lisa,
Thank you for contacting Ourhouse.com. Unfortunately this is a clearance sale where all sales are final. Therefore, we won't refund you the difference between what you paid last week and the prices of the items this week.

Lee

I replied and expressed my disappointment and that I may think twice before shopping with them again (just to be a brat).
I felt the same way. It is a liquidation, so further markdowns can happen, but it's a bummer when they happen before you've gotten your stuff.

I got my ice cream freezer yesterday and an email from them today (after getting a confirmation 2 days ago) letting me know that the all clad that I had ordered was out of stock and they don't plan to reorder. I let them know that they should check this BEFORE they send a confirmation which I hold them to. I also mentioned the price difference in the ice cream freezer and that most reputable companies will credit the difference.
Yes, this was a great deal in the first place but they should not do this. As my BF once said in a letter to a tax collector, apparently the head doesn't know what the hindquarters are doing. Yes, I'm griping but I still want to thank you Beth. They do have the pressure cooker.

Wendy, what did your confirmation letter say? I got a confirmation letter this morning saying that my items were shipped yesterday, but now I'm wondering..........
I absolutely agree with the confirmation. Once that is sent, you should receive it. They had seemed to be very quick to remove items from the page when they went out of stock. It could be that their computer system showed more in stock than they could find on the shelves. But again, sending the confirmation should be an indication that they have received your order and CONFIRMED that the items are there and ready to be shipped (packin em in the box as we speak).
I've felt good about lots of folks getting some great deals. I'm sorry for any disappointments, but I hope the things we do get will be used and enjoyed enough to make up for them. Hmmm, maybe you should whip up a batch of Jewel's ice cream. :D

Well now I'm starting to worry about my Cuisinart Toaster Oven! I got my email confirmation saying 1-2 weeks before delivery, but when I went in the very next day to the site to show a friend what I'd purchased, it was nowhere to be found! They have removed that item from the site! Now that could be because they ran out, but they still show other items on the screen and show 'out of stock' underneath them!
I guess I have no way of knowing until I either receive the item or receive the email!! I understand they're swamped when they have a sale this huge, but isn't there someone in the office that can daily update a website or check stock before sending a confirmation? Keepin' my fingers crossed that I get my oven! $59 for a $200 oven is a great deal! :D

just trying to clear this up:
I've placed three different orders with them now. You should receive a confirmation soon after you place an order - which is simply a confirmation that they received your order and they have begun processing it.
If an item happens to be not in stock (for me it was a Kitchen Aid mixer) at some point they would send a separate email saying regrettably one of your items is out of stock and they do not plan to reorder it so you will not be charged. I think with the mixer I got that backorder email maybe 3 days after I placed the order.
When they do ship your order they will send an email saying exactly which of your items has shipped and there is a tracking number for UPS at the bottom of it.

I ordered my Calphalon pots & pans on August 22nd, they were shipped on the 23rd, and I received them today (the 24th). I only paid for standard shipping, by the way.
All I can say is, wow. So far, so good.
I posted long ago that I had to give up the cobalt KA stand mixer when it froze on me and KA said they would rather send me the professional model as a replacement (only available in white). Well, I am now the proud owner of a cobalt KA hand mixer. My first order came today. (That vacuum that kept me fom buying more came yesterday -- also cobalt!)
I have stopped myslef several times from ordering a blender, but I am going to kick myself if my current one dies anytime soon. Since we don't use it that often, I should be safe, but then again -- I could have written Murphy's law (instead, I am living proof of the law and the corallaries).
I have been seeing pressure cookers everywhere, so I'll be curious to see how those of you who ordered enjoy them.
