Mail Order Spices

Can anyone suggest a reputable mail order company selling herbs and spices. Ability to order online would be great. Thanks.

Most of the folks around here seem to favor Penzeys www.penzeys.com (http://www.penzeys.com) , I happen to like The Spice House www.thespicehouse.com (http://www.thespicehouse.com) . Either are reputable.

Gail is right. I have used penzeys & is reliable. Like I have mentioned before try your health store. Ours carry a diversity of herbs and spices

All thumbs up for Penzey's in this house. They have many blends and great fresh herbs, spices and whole peppercorns. You can try little sample jars to see if you like something. You can also buy in bulk. What I do is get the standard size spice jars, and when I run out buy a bulk bag (i.e. 1 oz. or 4 oz.) and refill the jars. I've never been disappointed and use blends such as Galena Street Rub all the time. Also VERY reliable. You can just order a catalogue via their website if you want a peek. It has recipes, spice harvest info, etc.

I, too, have been very satisfied with Penzey's. Aside from the high quality and freshness of their herbs and spices, there are a couple of other things I appreciate about them: First, they list in their catalogue every single component of their blends (unlike some other spice companies that just say vaguely what kind of flavoring the blend is), so you always know what you're getting before you order it; and second, they also sell wonderful and inexpensive glass jars, from the small spice size up to the two-cup size. I use these jars for rice, beans, and grains, as well as refrigerator storage.

Thanks for the replies, Penzeys it is. I just ordered a catalog from their Web site. I was quite impressed with their broad selection and the ability to order online.

I HAVE GOT TO THANK YOU FOR THE PENZEY'S WEBSITE GAIL! I use arrowroot like it is going out of style, (alfredo sauce, stews, etc) but it only comes in LITTLE tiny jars or not at all, well they have 1 lb bags for $6 and change! Ah, I have found my second favorite website!
