Hi all. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Our niece was here for a couple day visit. took her on a 11 mile hike sunday... difficult because of ice. Lots of extra maneuvering and ups and downs to avoid some very slippery stuff. might have been the one of the year not requiring snowshoes. so it was a beautiful but tough 11 miles. managed to work out each day, yesterday with bike, treadmill, and GS back/biceps. It was especially exhilarating to crank thru back/ biceps using 3x the weight of my 30 yr old niece! She's in good shape but had never done a Cathe workout and was impressed. It did my ego good to crank thru using 12-15 lbs while she was dying with 5's.

Stacy... sometimes it takes longer to recover than we expect, especially if everyone was ill. kitchen remodel is stressfull and can mess up your routine but it's so nice when it's done and you love the changes.

today went to yoga and will do something else later.... after some much needed grocery shopping.

ended up skipping tuesday, took the day off outside of yoga. wed we did a very hard hike... a KILLER! about 4 miles but the further we went, the deeper the snow got. Started with dust &icy spots, ended up being 2+ feet at the top, and naturally uphill all the way. what a grunt! there is nothing like post holing uphill in fresh snow. took us more than 7 hours including about a 45 minute lunch. I kept thinking to myself " are we nuts?" but we were thinking it might be the last serious hike of the year so we just kept going. Today upper body and core, the legs get a break ...although I'm surprisingly not sore.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
