If anyone is a cookbook collector, you may be interested in a website called thegoodcook.com. You've probably seen their ads in CL and it's really a good deal! They've recently started promoting Complete CL and they also have CL 2001 Recipes, and The Best of CL-10 Years. You get something like 3 books to begin with for $1 each (plus shipping, but it was reasonable considering the cookbooks I got) and then you just buy 2 more cookbooks within the next year (and they even offer to let you buy the first at 1/2 off when you sign up). Their prices are reasonable and with shipping, I've found that you pay almost the same as you would at a bookstore. I was psyched to find the Complete CL, so I wanted to pass the info along to anyone else who might be interested in finding it at a good deal!

Thanks nancy-east for the tip, I will definitely check it out. I've been thinking about getting rid of my magazines and replacing them with the Annuals. What years does the Cooking Light Complete cover, do you know? I saw the 2001 Annual at Border's yesterday and it was really expensive (for my budget, anyway).

I just bought the CL Complete from TheGoodCook.com. My only concern is that I will repeat a recipe I've already tried and didn't like!! That was always one of the reason I didn't start buying the annuals. But, I couldn't resist the CL Complete. Now I am anxiously waiting for its arrival!

The only annual I saw was 2001 (I think that was the year--I get confused with the way they date them--it has a pink background with a pound cake on the cover, I believe) But you have the option to do a search for certain cookbooks, and you may very well find more annuals. And Valerie, I can empathize with the worry of repeating a recipe that wasn't the greatest, but I have the Complete CL cookbook, and I just drool every time I look at it! There are SOOO many yummy sounding recipes and I have tried to get in the habit of "grading" recipes as I make them on a A-F scale and writing in the grade next to the recipe.
