It seems as if we are getting a great response about a Chicago club. We seem to have interest from the burbs and the city. Where do all of you think is a good meeting spot? Also, one woman, and I am sorry I forgot your name, posted a great idea about everyone bringing or making some type of dish for the first meeting so we could get to know one anothers style, taste and preferences.

The CL mag also suggested a restaurant may serve as a neutral meeting ground while we play "get-to-know-ya." (Of course, that doesn't negate the whole city/suburbs dilemma.)
If there are no volunteers for hosting the first gathering, may I suggest a lovely restaurant in LaGrange called "The Grapevine." It serves up tasty italian & mediterranean fare and it is mere steps away from the BNSF Metra train stop.
And, as far as the city/suburbs discussion, for those of us who do live near each other, there is no reason we couldn't carpool when folks in the city host the dinner (and vice versa). And hey, its always good to break out of our environments & try new things. Either way, let's keep up the discussion. It sounds like a few of us are ready to roll, so let's not let details get in the way now. Feedback?

May I suggest a more neutral town for a first meeting. Not to start the suburbs vs. city debate, but LaGrange seems rather far (and I have worked in the Western Suburbs and have never traveled that far). Maybe Oakbrook or Oak Park. I am sure both have quite a variety of restaurants to choose from. Any suggestions?
Robin:)
