Does anyone know if there is a club in or around Cleveland? Or is anyone interested?

Hello,

I remember there was a woman who tried with much effort to get one started months back...but everyone was so spread out it was hard to meet. I see you live in Euclid...that is not too too far from me in North Royalton. Let's see if we can get a small group going!

Hi, I'd be interested, but boy this has been up for days and you were the only person kind enough to post a message.

I'm not afraid to travel a little bit. I don't buy into the great East vs. West debate. I've lived on both sides of the river, so I don't mind a little drive.

Do you know anyone else that might be interested?

E-mail me if you'd like at ceilimmc@aol.com

Hi,
I am interested in joining/starting a club. I know there aren't many of us, however, I would to be part of a group that is similiar in age to me. I am 50 and divorced and would like the company and camaraderie of a similar group. I love to cook and love good healthy food and would like to share that with others. Terry

I am also 34, but have no problem with an age difference with in a group. We can all learn and have fun!

I think it is better to have a mix of ages and cooking experience. So we'll have to see what we can get together and SOON!

Hello all,
I just read about supper clubs in the most recent issue of Cooking Light.

It sounds like a wonderful way to meet people, as well as to enjoy some great healthy food.

Let me hear from you who are interested, we'll get to know one another, and then I would be interested in hosting a "supper club" meeting.

I think this will be great fun.

I'm a retired college professor, widow, not very active in a social community, and spend a lot of my time reading, and caring for/playing with my 4 yr old chocolate lab, Maya.

Please respond and let's see what we can do.
I live in Lorain,, but travel to another burb is not a problem.

Hi! I'd be interested in a Cleveland Supper Club too. I just moved here in June and am always looking for ways to meet people! I live in Cleveland Heights - but driving isn't a problem!

I'm 34 too and I have a couple friends that may also be interested.

Let me know what happens!

I live in Brecksville, and would also be interested starting a supper club. Driving is no problem. I am apparently one of the few people in Cleveland who is not 34, but how ironic that I'm 43. Sounds like a great way to meet people and eat great food. What could be better?

I wanted to post a quick note here. I have about 10 names total who might be interested. I think this is great I was a little discouraged at first. I think I've e-mailed everyone, so maybe by about next Tue. or Wed. we can have a meeting time set up.

Let me know what you think.

Also if you need to e-mail me my aol account is giving me trouble so use Mary.collins@wgint.com

Hi- I just logged on for the first time and saw that you were starting a supper club. Do you have room for more. I am 30 years old and live in University Heights. I sent an email directly to Peggy C already in case no one checks this.

Thanks- Julie

Hello group!

Wow! The response! I remember when I first read about the supper clubs in CL magazine, the group met at a restaurant...now I know this can make it more difficult to really talk...but maybe we could meet at a coffee house? I LOVE aribica and it would be more intimate and we could chat and plan. There are people from Euclid to Medina so let's talk out some suggested meeting places. There is an Aribica in Parma Heights and University Heights.

Peggy you can take over from here!

Ok here is what's happening so far. I have about 12-13 interested people! So we thought we should get moving on a place to meet. Here is what I suggested and am waiting for feed back from everyone.

I suggested lunch on Satuday the 8th of September at 2pm at Hornblower's Barge and Grill, it is right on the lake in downtown Cleveland and offers free parking. I have never been there, but I thought if it's a nice day we might beable to sit on the patio.

If you wan't to call to check the restaurant out there # is 216-363-1151 the address is
1151 N. Marginal Rd.

I'm still missing a few direct e-mails so if you could please e-mail me at mary.collins@wgint.com I'd appreciate it, since I have the abbility to set up a distribution list it will make this a little easier.

Thanks and can't wait to meet everyone!

I was just wondered what everyone thought about the 8th. I wasn't sure if everyone was emailing Peggy separately.

I am still interested if I can get downtown on Saturday...but Hornblowers may be moderately expensive...it was the old Captain Frank's and that was moderate.

Peggy did you get a count?

I don't think that Hornblower's is the old Capt. "Larry's" or whatever it was you said. It is in a totally different place.

The prices aren't terrible, and you can order as little or as much as you want.

Hope you will meet us there, it sounds like a fun event.

Peggy Collins has arranged a meeting of interested people on Sat. Sept. 8 at Hornblower' at 2:00 PM. Hornblowers is on the lake between the Mather and Burke airport.

It seems that there will be about 15 - 20 people there.

Hope to see you Stacy

Hi, I just got in to work and have a bunch of replies, so I don't have a final count, but should soon.

I checked the prices when I called to see if they take reservations lunch prices are about $5.50 and up. So like Trudi said you can control what you spend, I'll also double check on seperate checks.

I'll e-mail everyone later today, I should try and do a little work. LOL yeah right.;)

Hi peggy and everybody else intersted in forming the supper club. I too am interested and will not be able to attend the meeting this Saturday. What can those of us who will be unable to attend do to express our interest and hope of being included in the group.
I was wondering if the group turns out to be too big, should we consider having two group so everyone may participate? I dont mind cooking with 20 people, I'm just wondering how many kitchens can accomadate that many.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Stacey

Stacey,

e-mail me directly with your input, for discussion on Sat. a couple of other people have had to do that. We will discuss a variety of items, one of which will be the size of the group. mary.collins@wgint.com

Everyone,
I think this can be a lot of fun, I really hope no one is getting worried about space, if you have a smaller house, no biggy just say so we could do a summer meeting at your house, a bbq. I don't mind eating off my lap or a tray, that will teach us all how to make an easy meal or we could do finger foods. If you have a huge dining room that can accomodate 12, great we'll do prime rib there! if the problem is a small kitchen we could do potluck, or a chopping section in another part of the house.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on Saturday - I have a wedding to attend so just let me know what input you need from me and what the next plan is!

Have fun!

hello!

I just picked up the Cooking Light supper club issue and would love to join the Cleveland supper club you all are forming, if you have room for one more! I am unable to attend the meeting tomorrow, but, if supper club info is being circulated to the non-attendees, please put me on that list! I am 32 and live on the far west side, but I'm not afraid to travel or venture over the east side!

Hi. I live a little farther south than everybody - but I would love to belong to a supper club. If anyone lives in the Cleveland/Akron area that has room for me, or would like to start another, please let me know.

Thanks!
