Due to the recent influx of porn related SPAM on the boards and links to other sites that seem to only be here as SPAM, I'd like to suggest that the new user privileges be changed. I think there should either be a time limit (14 days?) or a minimum number of posts (20?) before one can post pics and links.
Many, many message boards, even Craigslist's message boards have this restriction on new members. It can't be that hard to implement and would seem to reduce the number of these incidents.
This would be especially useful since it seems that lately most SPAM is happening on the weekends where there doesn't seem to be anyone available to take care of it right away even though it gets reported right away.
Note that when someone signs up as a new user that the info regarding the restriction on pics and links be easily visible somewhere on the signup (registration) page so there is no surprise or question about it.
