Hi. When I have ripe fruit I just place it in blender with some 1% milk and a few ice cubes maybe a dash of vanilla. It comes out like a milk shake so refreshing... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

My fave is one banana (I usually keep a couple peeled and sliced in 1/2 bananas in the freezer--tip from a wonderful person on this board), a handful of frozen strawberries, and enough vanilla soy milk to cover and make it smooth. Its delicious and really does taste like a milkshake.
I bought a packet of spirulina protein powder in the chocolate peanut butter flavor last night to try in a future smoothie. I'll let you know if the flavor is worth it.

I usually don't make smoothies, but also just recently tried one because of a tip from someone on the board about freezing bananas. I had a few overripe one that I peeled, cut in half, wrapped in saran, and tossed in the freezer. I made a smoothie with one banana half, a few frozen berries, 1/2c. O.J., and 1/2c. vanilla lowfat yogurt. Very tasty and refreshing for breakfast!

Hi. I've been making variations of this smoothie for ages, and now my 11 year old makes it for the family to start off our mornings. 1/2 cup OJ, 1/2 banana, 1/2 container lemon yogurt, handfull of frozen berries (I keep blueberries and ollaliberries (SP) in my freezer year round) 6-8 ice cubes. Whirl in a blender until smooth.
You can vary it by using different yogurt flavors and or berries.
Enjoy!
