Any New Supper Clubs Forming in Southern Maine?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any clubs in Southern Maine that would want a new member or in starting a club. I have just moved home from Southern California and would love to have some fun cooking for other people and sharing some good times. KMG

I live in Portland and I love to cook! For employment reasons, I am in Mass most of the week. However, a weekend supper club would be great!

Thanks for the reply, now my question is - how serious a chef are you? :) I am in the midst of about 3 jobs and classes so, a weekend supper club could be about all I could handle - I was thinking about once a month - once every six weeks. Do you have any ideas? KMG

I don't know that I'm a serious "anything." I have heard it said that you should never trust a skinny chef. I can boast a 38 inch waist for a good reference. The proof is in the pudding (Zabaglione, thank you!), however. I do fancy myself a bit of a food snob. If at I possible, I avoid using any ingredient that slides out of a can. I make bread, yogurt, beer and read a cookbook like a book of short stories.

I can relate on having a full plate ( no pun intended, weell, ok-pun intended!) I work in Mass and I am here most of the week. The weekend thig sounds good. 4 to 6 weeks seems like a realistic goal, too. Ideas, hmmm. I don't know about you, but Indian is my favorite. There is a great Madur Jaffrey cookbook on the table with recipies crying out for homemade yogurt!

Wow, that sounds a lot more serious than I am looking for right now! Let's see if we get any more responses and go from there. Although, I would love to try homemade yogurt and Indian food, it seems like our food tastes differ somewhat. My favorite food is Mexican but I also love Italian. Keep in touch and we will see what happens....
