Hello! I was reading about the Supper Clubs in the latest issue and thought it sounds like fun. If you are in the King of Prussia/Philadelphia area and interested in starting a Supper Club please respond.

Hi, I am in the Princeton, NJ area and the King of Prussia/Philadelphia area isn't too far to drive for a night out. Doesn't seem like we have any clubs in our area already. Would you like to get started? I have another friend who would be interested in joining as well, so that makes 3 of us -- so far.

Hi! I'm in Glenside, PA, nearby. I'm interested in a Supper Club. Let's see what develops!

I live in Delaware County PA, not too far from King of Prussia, Princeton or Glenside. My husband and I would be interested in a supper club if it will be couples.

Sounds like there are 6 of us interested. How should we proceed? Maybe plan to get together at a "neutral" place in September, as suggested in CL? A centrally located restaurant to meet and plan?

Sounds like a good idea. Are these all couples? Dont' think my husband would like to be the only guy. I'm still open to it without him depending on when. When is good to meet? The only Saturday night I have free in Sept. is Sept 29, but we could always do a different night. Where is a Central place to meet? Maybe center city. I'm willing to go to any of the areas.

I'll ask my husband if he's interested. He's not a cook (unless you count picking up the steak sandwiches and pizza) but may enjoy the comraderie. If the Princeton folks want to participate, center city Philly may be a long haul for them. Maybe towards the west of Montgomery county or Bucks County? How do others feel? September 29 works for me. I'm tied up on Monday and Tuesday evenings, and prefer weekends.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't say my husband would cook (although he does),I'd do the cooking and it just would be nice to meet other couples. I can't say I want to spend Saturday nights without him though. Let's see how everyone else feels. Anywhere is fine with me.

Are you full? I'm in Oreland, close to Glenside. I think it sounds like fun, although I am not the greatest cook (always trying though).

I recently moved to Philadelphia and just learned about supper clubs. Is it still possible to join? I am single and live in Center City (work in Princeton), and my only hindrance is that I don't have a car right now. Let me know if you all have set a time/place to meet, and if you think that it would be feasible for me given my dependence on public transportation. Thanks!

I too am interested in a Philly area supper club. I'm Center City located and also rely on public transport. I would love to be a part of a supper club, either with my husband or on my own.

Hi! I am sending this specifically to bhartell since I couldnt' e-mail or send a private message to you. I also sent the same note to Renee. Just wanted to let you know I have to drive right through center city on my way to Princeton for our first meeting on Sept. 29 if you want a ride. We can talk when it gets closer regarding time, when the meeting time is decided. Looking foward to it.

Hi, We have formed and we are based in the Princeton area. We are having our introductory meeting on Saturday, September 29th in downtown Princeton, NJ. Please see the Princeton, NJ thread for details!

Hi! Got Janie's message. I didn't realize that the King of Prussia and Princeton clubs had joined. I thought Janie was the only one in our club from Princeton. I am not interested in travelling that distance on a regular basis being that half the club is in that area. Don't mean to cause any trouble, but if anyone from the King of Prussia club (Glenside, Malvern, center city) is interested in splitting off and starting a seperate club in the PA area I would still be interested. Otherwise if everyone else still is agreeable to meeting in Princeton, have a great time. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
Thanks, Pam

Hi
I just found out about the cooking light supper clubs after reading the October issue. I think they're a great idea and sound like fun. I was thrilled when I logged on and saw that one club was already developing in the King of Prussia and Princeton area. I live in Jenkintown, about 20 minutes from King of Prussia; however, as of September 8th, I'll basically be living up a Princeton attending school their. I'd love to join the group materializing in the Princeton area. Are you deffinitely meeting on September 29th. If so, would it be possible for me to join your group.
HI!--I just saw all the activity about the Philly area SC forming--I couldn't tell if that group is officially merged with Princeton's group or not. I 'm not willing to drive the whole way to Princeton but I am in Wyndmoor--not far from the Glenside, Oreland, Jenkintown, K of P crowd--Is there any interest in another group in this area?

Anyone who is from the PA area that does not want to travel to Princeton area and is interested in starting a local club, preferrably with significant others (they don't have to cook, just show up) please e-mail me directly. I will be glad to organize it.

This post is specifically for Pam (and others who are interested in focusing on the Philly area and not Princeton). I would prefer to join a club in PA and thus would join you in setting up an alternative date/location. However, the only thing is that I recently moved here and am single, so if you want to keep this to couples only that's fine. just let me know. Renee

There are 6 of us so far interested in a PA group. Some have friends interested as well. Just thought I'd contact everyone and ask some questions and see if we can then put together a first meeting. There are some single and some married. I figure the first meeting at a neutral public place can be just the girls, maybe for dinner. We can brainstorm and see when and where to have our first dinner as well as what sort of menu we want to have. We can always have some dinners with significant others and some just the girls. We'll talk about it. It looks like our members live in Wyndmoor, center city, Rosemont, Collegeville and Drexel HIll (Beth, I don't think I know where you live). E-mail me back with what nights and time are good for you, maybe a mid-week dinner in a restuarant the first time, and if you have any suggestions of a neutral place to meet. Once I hear back from everyone I will e-mail you again and we will firm up a date and place. I think this will be alot of fun. Please e-mail me directly at billburn@erols.com. I am having an awful time trying to send the same message to everyone at once.

Hi Everyone,
The definite first meeting date for the PA group is Wednesday, October 3 at 6:30pm (to be seated by 7) at Chloe at 232 Arch Street in center city. Can't wait. Put it on your calendars.

Sounds like one Philly area supper club has already formed. I'm still interested. Are there any leftovers who want to form another one? I just moved here from Houston, TX and live in the Philly suburbs (Montgomery County) but would be willing to drive to Center City or any of the Philly suburbs.

I just can't do Center City and would like to stay in the suburbs. Anyone else want to stay in Montg Co? There are a few of us all within 10 min of eachother (Wyndmoor, Glenside, Oreland).
Let me know. ---Jennifer

Splitting into two clubs may be a good idea in light of how many people are interested. Please e-mail me and let me know at billburn@erols.com which of you will no longer be joining us on Oct. 3 (or which still will be) in center city so we know how many people to expect. Just so you know, we have just chosen center city for our first meeting, after that the dinners will be in a different place each time.

I'm so excited to see all the interest in Philly! I just moved to the Wynnewood/Narberth area, and I would love to join either the Center City one or the one in the 'burbs. I was in a CL supper club for the past year in Florida and loved it, and I have been eager to find a new one here. Please keep me posted on the "separation" of the clubs--I would join whichever one needs more people! I can make a weeknight in Center City, if that is still definite for a first meeting. -Katie
Okay, I just read the past messages and I'm a bit confused -- is there a club out in the suburbs? My husband and I live in Haverford and would be really interested in joining one around there or the King of Prussia/Malvern area, slightly less so in Center City (although we'd be willing to go if it was part-time Center City/part time 'burbs), and not really into a Princeton thing. Can someone let me know? Thanks much!

Hello all... I know that I'm a bit late here. However, I recently moved up from Delaware to the Norristown area. I was involved in a supper club down in Delaware and enjoyed it. I would be interested in meeting with the PA suburb people if you think that you still have room for more.

Hi, I think I messed up my last posting so excuse me if this is a duplicate. I am interested in joining a supper club in the Philly area. We recently moved here...3 weeks ago...from NYC and am looking for a way to meet new people in the area. I love to cook and was inspired my the article on supper clubs in the new issue.
We live in the Mt. Airy/Germantown area so center city would work out well for me.
Let me know if I am still able to join you.
Thanks,
Betty
Hi guys,
Here's yet another coming in late :) That October issue was great huh?
I'm also in the city (University City area) and relying on public transportation. If I join a club, my boyfriend will probably want to join me - but if it is a 'cook only' event, then that's good to :)
Feel free to email me off list at jsophia@disinfo.net if you have any room or are interested in starting yet another group in the area.
Thanks,
Joanna

I, also, am confused as to what's happening with the Philly supper club. I live in Jenkintown and have no problem coming into Philly for the first meeting on October 3rd, if there is still room...I would also be interested in looking at something in the burbs, more the Montgomery County way. Either way, I am happy to meet new people who have a shared interest. I am single, so if this is an issue, also please let me know. Can't wait to hear from someone!

Am I too Late????
I would be very interested in joining a center city supper club. I would really prefer to stay in the city...and I noticed that a few others rely on public transport. Please email if anyone has room in their group...or if there is any desire for another group for Center City. Thanks:)

Anyone who did not get a direct e-mail from me who is planning on attending the first PA meeting at Chloe on October 3, please e-mail me directly at billburn@erols.com. We have gotten so many interested people that I thought maybe we should decide ahead of time whether to split into two seperate groups. Let me know if you are planning on coming and how you would like to split up if necessary (singles and couples, age or location). I will confirm once I receive everyones response. It's been confusing but I know it will end up being worth it. It should be fun!

Sorry everyone interested at this point. Interest in this group has gotten huge so I don't think there is room for additional people at this time. Why not start a new thread and a new group. The responses were phenomenal.

Katie--
There is a thread going for a Main Line Supper Club. I live in Wynnewood and the other person who was interested lives in Haverford. Maybe you could check out the thread and post if you're still interested. If you attended one of the other meetings, could you let me know? I'm eager to get involved in one of the many Philly suburb clubs that seem to be forming.
Thanks,

Hi! Our club has allready had it's first meeting at a restaurant. We are in the progress of planning our first dinner. Don't know if we allready have too many people. You might want to contact Sarah at swerner@asherco.com to see how many people responded to our first dinner in Nov. since it is at her house. Otherwise, I do think there are a couple seperate clubs started too.
