Hi! We have a small cooking light supper club in Houston and are looking for a few new members. We are a small, but committed group, and likewise are seeking people that are truly looking to participate regularly in a supper club.
Our group mostly consists of people that live inside 610, but we would welcome interest from people that live elsewhere in Houston. We have also discussed carpooling if we get new members that are farther out.
We have dinners generally on the 4th Sunday afternoon of each month and rotate between members' houses.
We also tend to blend regular and vegetarian items so vegetarians and vegans are welcome (as long as you don't mind eating with meat eaters), as well as those with different religious dietary restrictions.
Our group is well organized with an email list serv, online polls to rsvp for dinners and select what type of dish you will bring. We also have online folders for the posting and exchanging of recipes after each meeting.
We pick a theme each month - usually the host gets to pick. Themes can be abstract (green!), a food (lemons!), or a cuisine (thai vegetarian!) - these are all past themes.
Most of our members do have pets (important since we meet in each others homes).
Singles, couples, all ages, religious affiliations, ethnicities welcome!
Please let me know if interested!
