I have been waiting patiently for someone to post a new thread so I could de-lurk but it hasn't happened so I took matters into my own hands... I read through last month's thread and didn't see any updates - if I missed something or if anyone else is coming out of the woodwork, let me know and I'll edit if possible.
Me: Candace, 35
DH: 41
It is good to be here with many familiar faces (and some new ones too!) and I hope my stay here is a little longer this time around. For anyone who doesn't know, we lost our baby boy last March at 25 weeks gestation after a very complicated pregnancy.
That was an IVF pregnancy, and we went through two frozen IVF cycles with embryos from last year this fall, and the second one seems to have worked. No complications so far though I'm being treated as high risk because of what happened before. NT is scheduled for Wednesday and I did the blood work last week, so I'll get the results right after the u/s.
I have been fortunate to not have much morning sickness - and what I did have was in the evening. I went through a couple of phases of being really tired, but I seem to be done with all of that now. I am definitely getting bigger faster this time around.
Melissa - sorry to hear about your GD - how is the new diet going?

CANDACE!!! I am SO thrilled to see you here, and sending all my best wishes to you and Nat for a healthy, totally uncomplicated pregnancy. Congratulations!!! :D
Hanging in at 35 weeks. Had my baby shower yesterday and had a wonderful time - my hostess did an amazing job and went way above and beyond with the food, decor, gifts, etc. I have another one this week that my office coworkers are throwing me, which is so very sweet given that I have only been working there since August and they still barely know me. It's making it all seem a little more real.
My OB appointments are now every 2 weeks, and I have another ultrasound on Tuesday so I am excited to see the baby again - it's been awhile!
Other than that, things are pretty uneventful here, other than just getting a little more and more uncomfortable each day.
FYI, Chazkp is one of my Facebook friends - I know she had a healthy baby boy on January 14. Hopefully she'll pop in soon and give us an update on his birth story!

Yay Candace! It's so good to see the public announcement of your news. I hope you're feeling well and am wishing you smooth sailing during the next six months.
I'm hanging in at 30 weeks and dealing fine with the new diet. Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm liking it, but unlike other diets in the past, it's so immediately tied to both my health and the baby's that I'm following it to the letter. I may not eat nuts, eggs or cheese for a while after giving birth, but that's okay.
Eva, glad to hear that you had such a nice shower and hope you enjoy the work shower this week. Good luck with all of your cooking for your upcoming party.
I hope everyone else is feeling well.

YAY CANDACE!!! That's just great news!!
I'm tired, achy, sore, uncomfortable - all things that go along with being 39 weeks, I guess. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. My BP is weird at my appointments - very high when I go in, perfectly normal by the time I walk out. I think I just get worried that I'm going to be late to my appointment, and it gets me all keyed up.
I'm currently living off of the Tums quick-dissolve powder. I can't chew the tablets anymore - the texture makes me gag. This stuff is like pixie stix that helps my heartburn. OMG, the heartburn.

Congratulations Candace! My thoughts and prayers for a happy, healthy pregnancy are with you and your husband.
Melissa- Hang in there with your GD diet! Sounds like you have a great attitude re: this pregnancy challenge.
Mary Kate- At this point, I think I'll just say...hope you have a safe and easy delivery!
Eva- Looking forward to hearing about your ultrasound!
As for me, I had another appt. this morning (33 weeks). Bad news: my BP was up a little bit, so I will see him again in just one week. Good news: I actually lost half a pound! I think this was due to my most recent pregnancy complaint. My hemorrhoids became thrombosed this week, so I was inert on the couch for a few days, and pretty much ate only if someone brought me food! I've gained 10 pounds so far, which is right along with recs for someone like me who started off heavy.
My measurements were also good; I was relieved to hear this. Lately when people ask when I am due, I am getting a lot of alarmed looks when they hear how long I have left. My OB said I am just carrying very low and straight out, which also contributes to the situation in the above paragraph. Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy.
So, bottom line (no pun intended), lots of discomfort, but healthy baby. I'll take that. My OB summed it up by saying, "You're 40 and at the end of a pregnancy. Everything is going to hurt`."
Happy gestating everyone!

Back from my ultrasound, and whew, it's still a girl! :p Guess I can start doing some laundry now. Seriously, though, that is such a huge relief for me. It has actually kept me awake some nights, worrying that the 18-week U/S was wrong. :o
But OMG, this baby is huge!! I seriously thought we were going to be having a 6 pound baby, tops. She is 5 pounds, 11 ounces already, and I’ve still got almost 5 weeks to go!! Now granted, that is plus or minus 14 ounces, but they say she’ll gain about ½ pound a week from now until the end. So, if I go until 40 weeks, she’ll be 8 pounds, 3 ounces plus or minus 14 ounces – so as small as 7 ½ pounds, as big as 9+ pounds??? WTH, I thought little people were supposed to have little babies! ;)
We didn’t get very good pics because she’s big and it’s pretty crammed in there but we have a little profile of her face where she’s got her little fist up to her mouth. She is head down (and face down), and the tech said that there’s a 90% chance she’ll stay head down because I don’t have a large volume of amniotic fluid for her to do much flipping now (although it’s still in normal range so nothing to worry about). So that is good news. Basically, everything looks great and she is right on track.

WTH, I thought little people were supposed to have little babies! ;)
Eva, do you know how big you (or your brother) were when you were born? That seems to have more of an influence than the size of the mother. For example, my SIL, who is slightly taller than me but probably the same size, had two really big sons. One was 8lbs 12, the other, 9lbs 13 . My MIL (ie, SIL's and DH's mother) had 5 kids - all of them over 8lbs. The other SIL also had an 8lb+ baby.
OTOH, I was 6.5 lbs, my brother, about 6. My two babies were just over, and just under, 7lbs.

My mom doesn't remember for sure (and I guess I thought it was recorded on either the official or hospital birth certificate, but it's not), but she seems to recall that my brother and I were both right around 6 1/2 pounds. DH was even smaller. Which is partly why we thought we'd have a 6-7 pounder. Perhaps my mom's memory is WAY off. ;)

Well, you DO block out parts of the childbirth experience! I guess I shouldn't question the U/S measurements, because they are supposed to be pretty accurate. I didn't have any late-term ones with either, but the midwife cupped her hand on my middle and felt each baby's rear end, and gave me an unofficial guess for each one. She was pretty accurate!
Happy labor vibes to you and the others in the "imminent" phase!

Eva, I'm glad it's still a girl! I have a friend who was told that it was a boy at 12 and 14 weeks and then she went last week at 17 weeks and was told that it is most definitely a girl. That made me decide that I definitely don't want them making any guesses about gender before 18 weeks!
Thanks for the warm welcome and good wishes everyone. I am really trying to relax and enjoy this pregnancy but it is hard given what I have been through. Today is 11 weeks 2 days, and I had my first OB appt (I am splitting my care between the regular OB and high risk - I'll see one or the other every 2 weeks). She did a quick ultrasound just to see the heartbeat, which was reassuring.
MaryKate - hang in there! the last couple of weeks don't sound fun.
Melissa - glad the GD diet isn't bothering you too much. A friend was on it last year (the same one mentioned above who is now having a girl) and I found some good lower carb cookie recipes for her. I'll see if I can dig them up for you.

Hello Ladies!!
Candace - that's AWESOME news! I'm so happy to see you here so soon. Here's to a smooth sailing pregnancy!!!
Melissa - sorry to hear about the GD. BUT, it sounds like your attitude is great and hopefully that helps make the most of it.
Mary Kate - You're in the home stretch!! Hang in there and easy labor vibes headed your way.
Autumn - I'm glad your doctor had such an eloquent way with words. ;) Glad to hear all is well and hopefully your BP maintains for the next few weeks.
Eva - LOL, I'm glad the baby is still a girl. ;) And try not to freak out on the doc's guesstimate too much. My OB said Nick was going to be 8.5 lbs (which of course scared the hell out of me) and he ended up being 6#1oz.
As for me, I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow. I had a little scare at my last appt. We couldn't find the heartbeart- but after the u/s and seeing the little bobble head, all seems fine. :) I've also been dealing with a nasty cold for the last several weeks and finally went to an urgent care last night. Apparently a sinus infection, URI, and an ear infection have been the culprit of my increased fatigue. I've been on antibiotics one day and already feel tremendously better.
Glad everyone is doing well!

Lots of action here lately. :D Candace, a huge hooray to see you here. :D :D :D
Keeping my post short and sweet because I am just pooped. All the time. On the bright side, it's made my tolerance for work crap and toddler nonsense pretty high, but at only 31 weeks, I'm a little afraid. DH travels a lot, so he's essentially a weekend husband/dad and I'm responsible for DS (3 next month) 100% (when he's not in daycare). I'm so bulky and large, and so far Danny has been pretty cooperative and helpful (as much as a toddler can be). I'm just hoping I can still do what I need to be able to do to take care of him as I get further along the home stretch.
On the bright side, had a good u/s this morning. I had some issues with Danny's placenta and severe pre-eclampsia the first time around, so they're doing lots and lots of monitoring on me this go round. Basically Danny's placenta was dying and he wasn't getting what he needed, but this time the placenta looks good and this little boy today weighed in at just under 4 pounds. He was already practicing breathing and the amniotic fluid looked good, blood flow to the placenta looked good, bp good, etc. And for me, any time an OB visit ends with me returning to work (versus Labor & Delivery) is a good visit. :)

yes, the thread is hopping. Thinking of Mary Kate... good wishes to you... my first baby was due on valentine's day in 2002 and she came 5 days late. but anyway, it was right around this time for me and my first. nice memories.
16 weeks here. and 40 years old, as of today...
Just getting over a terrible stomach bug (the whole family had it too) and now in the middle of a terrible cold. So bad that it is probably a sinus infection, but I will be like Eva and stay far away from the antibiotics. they make me terribly nauseous when pg so I'd rather just deal with the cold.
my one and only ultrasound of the pregnancy is coming up in 2 weeks. (have to pay for them, so I am keeping it to the minimum... unless of course they see something wrong but I don't want to think of that now). I do plan to find out the sex. not that it matters since we have all the stuff we need -- I am just curious.
everyone seems to be doing well on the thread...
congrats, and welcome, candace. that is great news!

Candace, I had no idea what had happened to you. I am sorry. (we were on the TTC vet thread togther)

Val, Happy bday!
I am feeling pretty good aside from the cold I have had for 2 weeks already! It is great to feel the baby moving. I have been feeling it for abour 3 weeks now (curently 19weeks)
I didn't feel my daughter until almost 0 week slast time or maybe just didn't know what I was feeling.

Well. I don't know if I'll be staying, as I'm only five weeks, but I seem to be pregnant again!
This is quite unplanned (we have two wonderful children already), and against rather mind-boggling odds, given that I've been on the pill and only have one working tube. We're both a little stunned (DH actually threw up yesterday, he's so stressed out -- I seem to be taking it a little better).
I am going to try not to obsess too much, at least not until my first appointment, a couple weeks from now. Hoping they can do an u/s then and make sure it's not another ectopic. I don't plan on telling any of my family until we've at least gotten past that.
Good luck everyone. :) Val, I seem to remember we were both here last time around?

Congrats Veschke! We're in the same 'surprise' boat as I have 2 wonderful little ones too! LOL, about DH. Mine just kept repeating the same 4 letter word over about 50 times until I wanted to throw up. ;)
Val - hope you had a great birthday!!! We seem to share the day. :)
Leah - I'm happy to hear you seem complication free this round! Must be a sigh of relief.
As for me, nothing too exciting going on. Slowly but surely feeling better. But I still have these outrageous sinus headaches that I'm pretty much over. And my weight. Ugh! The scale keeps creeping up and I really haven't been eating much more. I think I'm at 11 pounds now. The midwife said she wants me to gain at least 40 this round but I think I'm already on track to exceed that.

I've gained about 5 pounds at 16 weeks... but I am not in the boat where I should be gaining 40 during the pregnancy. I usually gain about 25, which seems to work well for my body.

Hi all and welcome to newcomers! Just a quick check-in here at 14 weeks, to get me on the thread.
Ended up having an ultrasound last Fri and the tech sounded pretty sure that this baby is my much-wished-for GIRL! (I have two boys, ages 3 and 2). I have been walking on air ever since, but now of course I am starting to question how sure she really sounded, etc.

Terri - fingers crossed that you do get your wish, but as I mentioned above, one of my friends was told boy at 14 weeks and then it was definitely a girl at 17.
veschke - a quiet congratulations. hope the shock is wearing off and your husband is recovering.
I'm with you all on the weight gain. ugh. I never lost all of my weight from the last pg, then gained a bunch during the first round of IVF, more during the second round, and even more with all the hormones I was on for the first 11 weeks to support the pregnancy. Since I've been off the hormones things seem to have leveled off a bit, but I have a big box of maternity clothes on their way from Old Navy because nothing fits right now. I don't have many maternity clothes from last time because I was on bedrest from 19 weeks on, so I just wore leggings, sweatpants, and sweatshirts.
I had the first trimester screening appointment last Wednesday and everything was fine - nuchal was 1.6 and down's risk was 1 in 6000. The baby was not being cooperative with positioning so the tech decided to look at some other stuff while waiting to see if it would move, and said that the brain, spinal cord, and intestines are all doing what they should be. It is very much a relief to be having a normal pregnancy this time.

Candace - I'm glad I'm not the only one in the weight gaining boat. I so much as look as food and it seems to go straight to my gut. I've gotten all my maternity clothes out but haven't made the plunge yet. I just keep squeezing myself into my pants until I can't any longer. BUT, I am excited this round to update my wardrobe. Both of my other kids are winter babies so summer clothes weren't necessary. Now I get to get new, woohoo!!

Candace, I'm so glad to hear about your u/s. Wow. A normal, healthy, uneventful pregnancy? What a concept. I sure hope the rest of your time is boring and weight gain is your biggest worry. :)
Terri - fingers crossed for a girl for you. After one boy already, I was afraid to have a girl - they have accessories and hair stuff and bloomers and things. ;)
Veschke - welcome to the group. Talk about a baby that really wanted to be here, huh? Hope your husband has digested the news. My DH was pretty blindsided by this pregnancy too, seeing as thousands and thousands of dollars and several doctors reassured us that there would be no more babies for us. I figure that my little guy just really had his own plans.
Fancy, your midwife wants you to gain 40 pounds? Lucky you. My weight gain was pretty impressive at first but my OB swears that it slows down at about 6 months. It may have, but I'm still seeing a number on the scale that I have never seen before and I'm outgrowing all of the clothes that I wore all the way through my 1st pregnancy. I pretty much surrender my body to this process. ;)
Val and BB - you all feeling any better?
Just hanging out here. Finally started working on the baby's room this past weekend, washed some baby clothes, etc. I've been procrastinating on that out of some fear that I'll jinx myself and the baby will come early if I nest. I splurged on a pedicure the weekend before DS #1 was born and my fear is that I somehow knew that he was coming and hence got ready. So if I get ready now he'll come early. Love that pregnancy logic.
I've been having some pretty good Braxton-Hicks contractions for the past few days. I don't remember them this early or frequent last time or feeling like this (they're really low in my pelvis), but I don't really remember. I have my next OB appointment on Thursday, so I'll ask then. If it was premature labor, I'd know, right?

I know! and the worst is making meals for 3 kids 3 times a day when the last thing you want to think about (or smell) is certain kinds of foods that they always want (mac/cheese, chicken nuggets come to mind).

Urgh, so apparently frequent B-H contractions are not a good thing. At my appt last week, after confessing that I was having them pretty much all day, I got hooked up to the fetal monitor, then sent downstairs for a bigger ultrasound (the biophysical profile thing I think), and sent home with a lecture to take it easy. :o Evidently my uterus is irritable and the baby was not moving enough. Who knew that a body part had emotions? They finally decided that I was fine because I'm not dilated, there's enough fluid for the baby and the placenta still has good blood flow, but I foresee this in my future for every subsequent OB visit. I was told that more than 4 BH's in an hour meant that I should be seen immediately, and um, well, um, I'm choosing to interpret that as immediately, or at my next weekly visit. I'm such a bad patient, but I really can't afford to be on bed rest, and as long as I don't move, I don't have any BH's. ;)
And this morning I got to work and noticed that my hands were swollen and tingling, so I asked the nurse here to take my bp and it was 140/82 (versus my usual 110/60-70). She retook it at lunchtime and it was back down and the tingling was gone and some of the swelling was down. So I don't know what that was about.
I hate not knowing what to do or when to worry. :(

Wow Ellery, I never heard of an irritable uterus!
Take it easy !
Ellery, hope nothing more comes of the BH. I just wanted to say that you should not assume that you would know if you are in preterm labor. I was and don't think I felt anything more than you have described. My OBG said it isn't like full term labor. Be careful. A few weeks is not a lot to deal with compared to a lifetime (or even a few weeks in NICU). Have they told you to make sure you are not getting dehydrated? Apparently there can be a connection between the two. And stress. Which mom have such an easy time avoiding, right? ;)
Candace, you are the reason I came to peek at this thread and I am thrilled the news is out and you are doing well. I hope the entire pregnancy is unexceptionally and wonderfully normal. :):):)
It's nice to see a number of friends here doing well and sharing their excitement. Hope things go smoothly for all of you. Thanks for letting me peek in and share a smile.

02-22-2010, 06:30 PM
Hi Beth. Thanks for peeking in on us. ;)
Yeah, after a bit of googling "irritable uterus" this weekend, I am sufficiently chastened and concerned. Because the dr's talking about a test to see if I was going to deliver in the next 2 weeks, and hospitalization, etc. weren't enough to freak me out last week. Until I was cleared to go home, that is. But yes, she did give me the lecture about taking it easy and resting as much as possible, which is really difficult when you work full time and are the primary caretaker for a very entertaining toddler. And she didn't say anything about dehydration, but I'm pretty good about drinking throughout the day.
I was just really hoping that this pregnancy was going to be uneventful and I could finally make it to term. I'll see how the contractions and swelling are tomorrow and maybe put in a call to the nurse depending on how I feel.
I remember hearing irritable uterus too, but I didn't have the internet at my fingertips -- and that might have been good for me. I was fortunate that my preterm issues came with the first born and the second was easier. They still took me out from work with the second as a precaution. The first time, I was sitting at lunch and told DH that I wasn't going to join them for the walk outside before we went back up because I thought I might be having contractions and wanted to call the doctor's office -- probably nothing. ABout an hour later I was strapped to a monitor and then I was sent home on strict bed rest witht he threat of a hospital bed. I wasn't allowed to go back to straighten my desk or anything. If you need it and can plan it, it might be easier for you and the others at work, but I hope you don't need it. Take care.

May gracious goodness Mk just be strong , and be true to your self .Will just hoping you a normal delivery and safe. Take care.

Hi all, hope you're feeling well.
Leah -- I hope your uterus calms down and the swelling goes away. As a working mom with a pre-schooler, I totally get the issues with "relaxing" or potential bedrest, but pre-term labor is no joke.
Bridget -- so glad you don't have to worry about chicken pox
Val and veschke -- hope you're hanging in there with the morning sickness. Cooking in the first trimester is the worst!
Candace -- so glad that all is going smoothly.
Eva -- how was your big party?
I'm doing well and hanging in at 32 weeks. The gestational diabetes is pretty much under control and I'm kind of enjoying trying new recipes (at least this month). I've lost all but one pound of my pregnancy weight on the GD diet, though you can't tell looking at my stomach. My OB is a little worried, but with all of my doctor's visits we're keeping careful track of baby and he seems to be doing okay.
Now that we're in the home stretch I'm definitely starting to feel the nesting instinct, although like Leah am concerned that too much will bring on an early arrival (just a little superstition).
Take care, all.

She does.... ;)
Checking in at 36 weeks. I'm out of work for two days because my BP is high again. I'm doing the 24 hour urine and will either be diagnosed with pre-e tomorrow or let go for a little bit longer. Just waiting to see. Either way I'm wondering if I'll be going back to work at all at this point. I hate to miss work when I feel fine but I will do whatever is best. Glad to see the updates and hear that people are doing well. Where's Eva?

I'm here, I'm here!
The Chinese New Year party was a great success, but only because Lisa(numbers) and my brother were rock stars in helping me prep. No way could I have pulled it off without their help. I was completely and totally beat by the time everyone the last guests left at 1:00 a.m. My brother flew in Thursday, we had dinner with friends that night, and then stayed up a little late making our grocery lists and planning out a timeline/schedule for party prep. Friday morning, I got up early, and we had a FULL day of running around all over town. Lisa flew in Friday afternoon, and we were up prepping stuff until about midnight. Saturday morning, I got up at the crack of dawn because DH & I were having our maternity photos taken (I'll post proofs once I get them from the photographer - they turned out great!), and while we were doing that, Lisa was in the kitchen prepping and cooking. I managed to squeeze in a short nap in the afternoon, but then it was frantic last minute prep. I was falling asleep on the couch while the last guests were still over but I knew if I said I was going to bed, they would leave, and they were still having a good time with DH, so I fought it and stayed up. Sunday and Monday, though, were totally lazy recoup days.
I had my first weekly OB appointment today, and I am dilated to 2, almost 3, cm, and 60% effaced. She says if she had to wager, she *thinks* I will still be pregnant at my next appointment (next Tuesday). Uh, thinks?? I soooooo am not ready to go yet! It seriously has never crossed my mind that this baby might come early. I have a ton of stuff to get done, both work and home wise. Probably a good thing I started prepping/washing diapers last night.
So my friend is now wagering that I will have this baby in the next week, but I am holding out hope for a March baby still. In the meantime, I best stop putting my to-do list off!
Eva, I think it is a very good thing you did not travel. You may be early and it could go quickly.

Haha, Beth - that was one of the first things I thought about too. If I had planned to go on that trip (which is next week), I would certainly be cancelling now. As it is, DH is wondering if he should cancel his plans to go snowboarding on Friday (he'll be gone for about 14 hours). I told him we could play it by ear - if I wake up Friday morning and feel the way I currently do (which is zero signs of labor), I'm sure he'll be fine to go. If there's any signs of labor before then, he says he'll bail.

Hello, everyone!
On Thursday, Feb. 18, little Oliver was born! It was a whirlwind of a day. He failed two NSTs on Monday, and we had a follow-up on Thursday, which he failed too. My OB was concerned about his well-being. At noon, I was at the OB's office. At 1:30 I had checked into the hospital and was putting on my gown. By 3:30, I had my little boy via c-section.
Our stay in the hospital was eventful too. The second night there, he was close to having a really dangerous case of jaundice, so we were placed on a strict feeding schedule to avoid any billilights. We fixed that problem, and then were told that he was having some other issues that may be pointing toward an infection. He was in the NICU for three days/nights.
Evidently, this little guy is just a troublemaker. The results from all of his tests left doctors scratching their heads and saying, "We can't see any reason why this would have happened." He's a very content, very strong little boy.
Thanks for all of your encouragement!

Yay Mary Kate and welcome Oliver! He is so cute!
Eva - You're probably next but I'm in the hospital now (not in labor) for pre-e so I probably won't make to to my due date. They may let me go home today for bed rest at home but we're waiting to hear back on some labs that will be taken around 2:30.
So glad to hear how well everyone is doing!

Can't believe I forgot those stats. 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and 20 inches. Definitely the biggest baby this week in the NICU. He looked like a giant next to the preemies!
Eva, you're the next on the list! I'm excited that you're this far progressed - I never dilated to even 1 cm. :D

Mary Kate - great to hear from you and with such great news and such a gorgeous little guy. While I intellectually know that I'm going to have one of those soon, I still can't believe I'm going to be snuggling up with a yummy little guy of my own soon.
Paige, waiting to hear how your bloodwork came back. The fear of pre-e returning is currently ruling our lives right now. :o Hopefully you'll just be on bedrest and monitoring, versus the delightful magnesium drip and hospital stay.
Eva, it's lonely at the top, eh? ;)
Ready for a stiff drink or some valium here. Had my OB appointment this morning (seems like years ago), ended up on the fetal monitor, then got sent to the hospital for more monitoring, more u/s, bloodwork, threat of hospitalization, etc. Only to hear that everything is fine, but only after I'd already freaked trying to find my DH (in a lunch meeting 2 hours away) and try to figure out who was going to pick up DS from daycare this evening. Fortunately I didn't get into a car accident on the way to the hospital, as I was a little wiggy. I remember this pattern well from before DS #1 was born. He'd be not reactive enough in the OB's office, then would be fine by the time I got to Labor & Delivery. What we didn't know then was that something really was wrong, but it never showed itself until delivery day.
So I get to do a 24 hour urine test this weekend, Sunday 11 am - Monday 11 am. I'm not sure how I'm going to swing the first half of my workday Monday morning with the big ole jug o' pee. Um, put it in a cooler in my office and hide that behind a sweater or something? (I meet with my clients in my office typically) Do I lug the jug back and forth to the potty with me? I only got out of doing it tonight till tomorrow since I already have another OB appt Monday morning, and I wanted to have to do this as little as possible at work.
Either way, long long day. Thank goodness for a calm DH as I most certainly wasn't. Which is annoying, since I knew that most likely everything was okay. :o

Leah- Sounds like we are in similar boats except I already have the pre-e diagnosis. :(
I was put in the hospital for 24 hours to redo the 24 hour urine under hospital bed rest but it still went up over 150 "points" (whatever they measure the protein in) from Tues to Wed. I was given the choice to stay in the hospital until I deliver or go home on strict bed rest with three times a day BP checks and ANOTHER 24 hour urine starting at 8am Sunday. I decided to come home last night because I wasn't sleeping at the hospital and it's easier with DS. I had an NST today and the baby continues to look great. He measured in the 90th%ile for size on the u/s at the hospital. We're being induced on Tuesday at exactly 37 weeks to avoid things going south and needing magnesium or an emergency c-section, etc.
I hope everyone is cruising along uneventfully!

Yep, Paige, sounds like we're swimming in the same waters. ;) So far my blood pressure has been okay and they haven't noted any protein in my urine in my weekly checks, but again, this is the pattern we were in with DS #1. I'm jealous of you making it to 37 weeks - I've been saying this entire pregnancy that all I want is to make it to term (DS was induced at 35 weeks). I can't wait to hear how Tuesday goes and see pics. Yay for making it to term!
Bridget, I'm not sure the exact details (the magnesium and stress combined to make things fuzzy) but apparently I had issues with my placenta the first go round, where it was underweight (or undersized? "under" something) and starting to die, so my son wasn't getting enough something (blood flow?) and was therefore not as reactive as he should've been. So I went from fine one day to posting a question on the BB's pregnancy thread the next about weird itching to giving birth the next day. My pre-eclampsia came on very quickly and very severely. So far in all of the biophysical u/s's I've had so far (3 in as many weeks) the blood flow, fluid levels, placenta, everything looks good, so I'm not sure why this baby is acting like the last.
Meanwhile, these B-H contractions are getting a little more intense. I'm just a mess! ;)

Leah, sounds scary! I hope the rest of this pregnancy goes well!
Paige....Tuesday is right around the corner!!
MK, Oliver is gorgeous. A rough start may just pave the way for smoother sailing -- not necessary make him a trouble maker for the long haul. That was true for my oldest. My youngest was much easier as a baby, but is a bit of a toot now. Not bad, but makes sure I am adequately tested. ;)
Paige and Leah, hope all goes smoothly for you and Eva too. Will try to remember to check in for photos of our baby boom (maybe it's always like this, but I don't usually pay attention to these threads and ya'll have got me sucked in -- almost like watching a curling match ;) :p ). Ya'll take care!
