Hi all,
I've been doing regular weight training and along with other exercise, have gained muscle. I even have some upper body strength! The strange thing is, I've been noticing lately that I don't feel as tired when I go to bed, and I tend to wake up earlier. I don't think I've read any correlation between sleep and muscle gain. Does anyone know about this?
Thanks.

I'm thinking it's a change in your metabolism more than muscle gain.

I agree. I also know that when I started working out consistantly w/ weights, I had experienced the same thing, and I know a lot of it had to do with my state of mind - enthusiasm at feeling healthy and strong!:D
Also - did you change your eating habits? That could also affect your energy level.

Metabolism. Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. I've reduced the amount of calories I eat per day, and I eat healthy, so that might be contributing. But I don't think it's an emotional thing. Just when it comes to bedtime, I don't feel as tired, and it's a lot easier to wake up early.

ff, do you find that when you do fall asleep that you sleep more soundly/deeper. I know that a deep 6 hour sleep is as good or better than 8 hours of less restfull sleep for energy and health.

your body is basically adapting to the changes happening to your metabolism., thats why.

Does this newfound energy last? I kinda enjoy the extra boost and less sleep time.

I find I do have far more energy when I'm getting regular workouts in. However, I do find that by bedtime I am ready to sleep. I don't toss and turn like I do when I'm not working out so my sleep is higher quality.
I don't think it's necessarily related specifically to muscle gain just that your body becomes more efficient at it's processes and does them with less effort.

Hello Friends.
I think "your body is basically adapting to the changes happening to your metabolism" he said right.
