:( OK.... I have emailed Gusto magazine, I have emailed Cooking Light magazine... with no answer...
Has anyone heard if the Spring 2001 Gusto magazine is the only one we will see of this new offering? Have they (CL and SL) decided not to continue publishing this?
My information is a couple of months old, but here's all I can tell you.
At our farewell dinner in Birmingham, I was seated at the table with Billy Sims, CL's executive editor, and I asked basically the same thing. Seems that one issue of Gusto! was kind a testing-the-waters thing and the final vote wasn't in yet as to whether or not they would publish further editions. He indicated that if the response was good from the public, they were hoping to put out another issue-- possibly in the fall.
He also suggested that if another issue did come out, it would very likely be different from the first one in that since they were doing something which hadn't been done before with the concept of the magazine.
That's about all I can offer. Maybe someone out there in CL Land will take pity on us and offer more information.

I just e-mailed my friend at SL (she's on her honeymoon right now) and asked her about Gusto magazine. If she replies before CL or SL, I'll let you know.

I didn't realize that CL had anything to do with the publication of Gusto. I bought the issue when it first appeared on my newstand and I thought it was a very nice magazine. I have been looking through the stands every month, hoping to find another issue. I hope they continue this different magazine.

As usual, Gail's on top of things.
She's right, the first issue, published by Cooking Light, was a test issue. We are awaiting the results of newsstand sales before the magazine's fate is decided.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to answer this, specifically Maelynne who brought this to the attention of others and got for me a personal answer!
While extremely bummed about not seeing another issue, at least this will stop my "hey, there is a magazine store, let's see if they have Gusto!";)

I am keeping my fingers crossed so Gusto magazine proves to have a market. I really enjoyed their first issue.

It won't stop me from looking - I 'll keep looking for a new issue! I sure hope the newstand response was good.
