How to remove odors from plastic containers..

Does anyone have a tried & true remedy?

I have a lot of success with putting in a bit of dish soap and some bleach and filling with water and letting sit...that said-even this occasionally does not work! i have started using more glass containers for that reason as well as trying to be a bit more green...

If you have the sunshine and time available, place them out in the bright sun for a few days after a good washing.

My Aunt used to crumble up a sheet of newspaper and put it in plastic containers to get rid of odors and I find it works pretty well.

Quite interesting, and easy!! You just crumble it and leave it inside the container for a while?

Ana, yes but I usually leave it at least overnight. Sometimes I just store the dishes with the newspaper in them and then wash them before I use them again.
