I would love to get one started in Columbia. What type of club were you considering? Singles, couples, both?

I live in Columbia and would be interested in doing a supper club! I didn't realize anyone else on the board lived here -- I knew we had some other South Carolinians. Did you hear from anyone else?

I have not heard back from Gilson, yet. But that would makes three of us. Is there anyone else interested out there in the Midlands?

Still trying to get things rolling. Anyone else out there interested in a Columbia-area supper club?

I live in Irmo and would enjoy a supper club. I love to cook! Please contact me if everyone is still interested. My husband might be interested as well.

I would be interesting in doing a supper club in Columbia. That is, if anyone is kind enough to tolerate my cooking.

I am still interested in a supper club, too. :D I had almost given up on the idea. Glad to see others are interested. How should we kick things off? -- Clare

Should we try to meet to get aquainted and discuss what we are interested in doing? I am fairly flexible except for Gamecock football game days. Keep in touch.

Maybe we could get together for a lunch or something?

I probably cannot get involved in a supper club right now (as much as I would enjoy it!) but just wanted to let you know that there is another Columbia resident on the BB.

I still would be interested, too. I think many of the clubs have met for either lunch or dinner first to get acquainted. Maybe we could do that sometime in November and then, if everyone still is interested, do the first supper in January (after the holiday rush is over).

I wonder what a good meeting spot would be? I live downtown but am flexible to drive out to Irmo or Northeast Columbia if that suits more people.

Hi Columbia folks -

I am also interested in joining a supper club in Columbia, and have a friend who is interested.

How about getting together the week of November 12th? Downtown is OK with me. We could go to dinner, maybe LaVecchia's or The Rhino Room or ??, I am not picky. I agree with waiting until after the holidays to actually get going. What does everyone think? :D

Meeting for lunch is OK, too. I just need to clear my calendar NOW!!

Somewhere downtown the week of Nov. 12 would be fine for me -- lunch or dinner. And I also agree that we should hold off on a dinner until after the holiday madness (and football season;)).

That plan sounds good to me - downtown, that week, and lunch or dinner. I do have an evening commitment Nov. 13, and a lunch meeting Nov. 15. But hey, since I'm a newcomer, if those times work for everyone else, go ahead and meet.

How about the 14th for supper? Someone name the time and the place!! If this is not good, I can meet any day. Thoughts??

The 14th is good with me. I like the idea of going to Rhino Room -- it's casual yet has good food.

How does that sound to everyone else?

I could do the 14th at the Rhino Room. Would 6:30 or 7 suit everyone? I will have to go back to work after dinner, unfortunately.

Any time is fine with me on the 14th.

I guess we're decided on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:30 at the Rhino Room. I think carrying the magazines isn't a bad idea -- that way we all won't have to post descriptions of ourselves. :)

Does anyone know if The Rhino Room takes reservations? We could book a table and then hopefully all get seated together? I count 7 of us that are interested (KJP, Clarebear92, lillyhue and friend, BethH, SCMartin14, and myself). Maybe we could think of a name for the supper club and ask for that table. None of these are very good ideas, are they?:p Oh well, just felt like posting!!

Beth H

Rhino Room does not normally take reservations -- however they might for parties larger than six as a lot of restaurants do.

KJP, welcome. By all means, join us.
I think we could warn the Rhino room that we are coming and don't know each other, even if they won't make a reservation. Anyone want to make that call?
I'll bring my magazine, too. Just in case;).
As for a name for our group, that's a great idea. Of course right now my mind is blank. Any suggestions?

Hi Guys!

I called the Rhino Room and made reservations! Wed, Nov 14 6:30. They would only take reservations for 8 or more, but I explained that we had 7 and may have more. They were ok with that and asked us to call should we end up with less than 7 or more than 8. OK? So, as it stands, we are reserved for 8 people. Oh yeah, I made the reservations under "Cooking Light Club". That way, we can all check in. I hope that's ok...not very creative, I know, but I wanted to go ahead and make the reservations. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Thanks for calling the Rhino Room, KJP! That sounds good to me. My husband, who is great at cooking Indian dishes, is thinking of joining us so we should have plenty for the table. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
