Search not working properly.

I just did a search today for "New Orleans" and received a "no matches" answer. But I knew for sure there were previous threads on this! I tried searching using "*New Orleans*", and pulled up two threads, but a recent one posted by Kwormann did not show up in this search result. When I tried searching all forums for just the subject title, nothing showed up at all - even though I found the New Orleans thread (with New Orleans right in the title) when I did a search for posts by Kwormann.

So, even though it is functioning on some level, it certainly is not being as helpful as it could be! :) Anyone else having this problem????

Yep.

Last time this happened to someone, I suggested using the wildcard, which at that time seemed to solve the problem. Now obviously it's not. I figure it's got something to do with that funky three-letter business in the search, because you have the same problem with searching Los Angeles or San Francisco. Dropping the three-letter portion and searching Angeles or Francisco or Orleans in the subject title seems to do the best job.

Hmmm....veddy interesting.....I'm sure glad I'm not the computer techie who has to figure all this stuff out! :)
