I live in the owings mills area and would love to be a part of a supper club and have the opportunity to meet others that love food as much as i do. I am willing to drive a short distance in order to get this thing going.

Sounds great to me, I live in Towson. There is another thread, posted by cyharp; also looking for others in this area.
Let me know if you find enough participants, driving to Columbia would simply take all the fun out of this for me.

I live in Baltimore as well and am very interested in being in a supper club.
Seems as if there at least 4 people who have posted on this site in the area.
Has anything happened so far with starting one?

My husband and I are interested in participating in the supper club idea. It seems like the others who have posted messages are in our general vicinity--which is great!
We enjoy and cook a great deal from the cooking light magazines and would love to share that with others.
Weekend evenings (Friday-Sunday) would be best for us as we both travel alot for business.
Let's get something going!

Maybe those who are interested could meet (for dinner and lunch) and discuss what they had in mind - frequency, time, format? I would be glad to organize. If interested feel free to email me at TMTehan@aol.com. Tara

Hi! I live in the Roland Park area and am very interested in joining a supper club. Let's choose a time to meet and get it going. Bmore has lots of fabulous restaurants where we can get started!

Well, it looks like we have nailed down a date, time and place for the first meeting of the Baltimore-North Supper Club.
We are thinking Loco Hombre on Coldspring Lane, Saturday, Sept. 15th at 7:30 pm. Please post on the forum if you are interested in being there. That way we can come up with a final count, figure out who's who. At that meeting we'll figure out the logistics of the dinner WE actually cook...ie where, when, what and how!
Look forward to hearing from you!

Loco Hombre is one of my favorite places in the area, but unfortunately too many people also share this thought. Does anyone know if they take reservations?
Maybe we could meet across the street at Sam's Bagels, a little earlier. This should allow a quiet place to get together and talk about the club, then those interested could head across the street for dinner. I wouldn't suggest trying to get a table at Loco's after 7 PM, even for a group of 2, unless waiting is one of your favorite pasttimes.

I think Sat evening at Loco Hombre sounds good. At least one person is concerned about the restaurant being too busy. Maybe if we meet at 6:30 or 7:00 it will be less crowded. I think Sam's Bagels closes at 3 or 4 and that's too early for dinner. I think Loco Hombre would take a reservation if we have a larger group of people. What does everyone think? Also, did anyone get my email? Again, I won't have access to email or internet after Mon night, so someone please call me and let me know what the plan is! Looking forward to Saturday! Katie

My husband and I will go early (before 7pm) and put in our name on the list. We'll just have a drink at the bar and then people can show up as they wish. We have never had to wait an extremely long time. By Friday we'll know how many people will be there and we'll put the table under "Smitheman". I called and Loco Hombre will not take a reservation.
Let's keep the meeting time 7:30 as planned.
Looking forward to meeting everyone there!

I may not be able to make Saturday's dinner. I have company from out of town for the weekend because of this week's events. Can someone contact me after the dinner to let me know how the meeting went? Thank you.

Hi all. I also may not be able to make Saturday evening. I will likely have to work. We have some nurses who have been calledout of town secondary to the week's events. I won't know for sure until Sat am. If I do miss it, please keep me posted-I'm still interested! Katie

I think that the 1st meeting of the Baltimore Supper Club should be postponed until the following Saturday. Many people have been affected by the weeks events so as a result perhaps we should postpone.
Let's make it 7pm, Saturday September 22nd at Loco Hombre.
Our thoughts and hearts go out to all of those victims of these horrible acts and also our thanks go to those working so hard in helping in the aftermath.

I was a member of a CL dinner club in Boston until about 3 weeks ago when I moved to Pikesville. Did the first meeting go OK? Is there continued interest? Is there room for another person?

Several of us who didn't make it to the first meeting, but are still interested in forming a club are planning on meeting at Mount Washington Tavern (in Mt. Wash.) at 8 PM on Friday, 10/26/01. The name of 'CL Club' will be left w/ the hostess , to make it easy for everyone to remember. We will request a garden room table for coffee and desserts or appetizers, finger foods to allow for planning.
If you plan on making it, please post a reply and I will call in advance for a reservation - or larger table if more can make it, so far there are 3 people planning to attend.
The more the merrier. Let us know if you can join in.
Maureen
