Sounds like there are lots of people interested in the Chicago area. I live in Schaumburg. If we get enough people, we can branch off by area. It would make driving easier. And keep in mind that most people do not have dining space for too many people.
My parents have been involved in a "Gormet Club" for 20 years. I think theirs is 4 or 5 couples. The way it works is they meet every two months or so. They take turns hosting. When it is your turn to host, you get to create the theme and menu (with recipes from whatever sources). You assign each item on the menu to different people in the club. The idea is to try new things and have them go with a fun theme. The person hosting usually makes the main dish and assigns others to appetizer, salad, dessert, and etc. I'm not saying we need to do it this way. I'm just talking about it to generate ideas.....
