water dispenser tastes bad

got a new kenmore refrigerater with water dispenser in december. water never tasted good. changed the water filter, changed the water line. has not had impact. kenmore service is no help. any suggestions to improve the taste?

How does your water taste without being filtered? If it's really bad, I don't know if a filter can improve it too much. I don't like the taste of our filtered water compared to some bottled water. It's just what you might be used to. However, when I change the filter, I run about 10 quarts of water through it before I use it. This was one of the instructions on an old fridge I had, but I don't think it was on my present fridge, but I still do it anyway.

tap water tastes better than filtered through this new fridge. last fridge dispensed water and i had no problems for 10 years.

You might try some baking soda mixed with the dispenser water... I hate to tell you this, but my DM had a Kenmore (100 years ago), and the water dispensed always tasted and smelled like lighter fluid!:(
