Since I'm not able to attend the date set up for later in the month, I'd be interested in meeting somewhere in the next couple of weeks. A week night sounds fine with me.

Hi Suzanne -Thanks for starting the new thread. The other one is getting out of hand so hopefully we can get the west suburbanites to use this thread.
I'm waiting for responses to the Thur 9/6 date at the Back Drop Cafe. Is that day OK for you? Lori

I can make 9/6 at the coffee house. My husband won't be there, but I can fill him in on details. We both grew up in LaGrange, but are not familiar with this coffee house. Where is it located and what time does everyone want to meet?

Thurs the 6th sounds good to me. Time is fine also. I'm not sure what to think about the location; don't know anything about the artist's showing and if it would be problematic with our group. I have another thought, don't know how it would work but what about the cafe at Wild Oats in Hinsdale. Certainly would be quiet.

Either place works for me. What time on 9/6 was suggested?

Maggie, Lori, Suzanne & all west-suburban folk:
Thursday, 9/6, at Wild Oats sounds good. Has someone picked a time yet?

OK - Wild Oats it is. Hey Downers Grove & Bolingbrook friends - Wild Oats is on Ogden Ave., just west of the 294 ramps (east of York Rd).
How is 7:30? (eariler or later is fine too)

I'm still interested in participating in a supper club in the western suburbs. I think I lost track of everyone as I navigated on these threads, etc.!!!!!!!!!! Definitely new ground for me. Sounds like everyone is agreeing to Thursday, 9/6, at 7:30 p.m. at Wild Oats. I assume in the little coffee shop area of the store? I will also plan on being there. Alida:)

Unfortunately, I can't make it Thursday! I'm so disappointed too. But please, don't change anything on my account. Although I wouldn't be able to make the first meeting I would still love to join! Please let me know what happens and what everyone decided.
It would just be me and maybe a friend from culinary school. I told her I was trying to join a group here and she loves the magazine as well. We are 23 and 25. Single.
Keep me posted!
P.S. this new western suburbs thread is so much easier to deal with!

Hi All,
Thursday sounds good! I have no idea where this is but I can find it. Unfortunately Julie will be busy that night, but she might be able to come later around 8. Don't change the time on my account if she doesn't make it I will fill her in. I will be there by 7:30. I remember seeing Wendy in here too. Shall someone try to contact them? Lets try to accomodate everyone who is interested.
See you thursday at the wild oats

Mike,
Wild Oats is located on Ogden Avenue in Hinsdale. It is just slightly to the west of the 294 exit/entrance ramps. It is on the south side of the street, next to Starbucks.
We haven't heard from Wendy in a while.......have you?

My husband is out of town and I have kids to shuttle around so I will be late - probably about 8:00. Don't wait for me - just start and I'll join you ASAP. :D

The person who responded "yes" to the Corner Bakery meeting (on the old Chicago club thread) is "moeraki" - (Margaret). Is the Corner Bakery thing still on or should we try to e-mail her?;)

Hi all! I've been out of the loop -- working late and out of town. So what is happening? Did you guys meet? Thanks to those of you who emailed me! My husband Bill and I are definitely still interested... is there a date set up for the first dinner?
Sorry for being so unaware, and thanks for keeping me in mind.

I've been absorbed by the horror of this past week, as I'm sure the rest of you have been. Hope that it didn't touch any of you on a more personal level.
Decided to do a posting on both this site and possibly repeating it on the Chicago thread in an attempt to reach everyone. Nicole has responded on this thread, but I'm not certain that she's received any of our group emails, since we haven't heard from her. Also, Margaret & Geoff (moeraki) are still out there.
The topic of splitting into 2 groups has come up numerous times. I feel that may be necessary since it looks like we're up to a 12 definite. By the way, I told my sister, who lives in Wheaton, about this and she was very interested and plans to attend the first dinner on 10/14. She's going to look through her magazine/recipes yet. With Nicole (& friend) and moeraki, we could be up to 14. Maybe by getting this thread reactivated we'll get some more interest. At any rate, it makes sense to me to meet as a large group on 10/14 and discuss at that time about splitting off.

My mom and I are from Elmhurst and we are very interested. I have not checked the activity of the supper clubs for a while, so we both missed the get together. Could you please tell me which group we would be able to join? I am very excited about this.

Hello! I see there's lots of interest in a Cooking Club for the Western Suburbs. That's great! I also see that I might be too late in joining your group???
If you do elect to form two groups, please count me in. I live in the Woodridge/Downers Grove area, and would love to join in on the food and fun!
Thanks,
Linda Damlich
