I just found a great website for making your own personal cookbook. You can enter all your favorite recipes into their special formatting and print out a nice looking booklet. It is a great gift idea for a Christmas gift for your family, special friends, daughters/daughters-in-laws, and for a bridal shower. The website is hometowncook.com and it is FREE! There is also a new recipe magazine out called Hometown Cooking put out by Better Homes and Gardens. It is published 6 times a year and has no outside advertisers in it. There are about 100 recipes in each issue. I just received my first one and there are at least 25 recipes I want to try. The info on that magazine is also on that same website. Enjoy!

I have been interested in this for so long!!!
I thought I might try to make my own cookbook and then illustrate it. I've been compiling original recipes, but it's taking forever, and latelty, I have no time to create and re-test more recipes. I do, however, have a knack for painting and would still love to illustrate a cookbook! If any of you want to make a cook book, but need an illustrator, give me a shout.

This is wonderful and something that I have always wanted to do! My sister and I have talked about doing this with old family recipes, favorites, etc. Thank you for the very useful information!!!
Did anyone else have trouble even getting into the home page on this site? My browser kept telling me it couldn't connect because it didn't exist!

How exciting!
Now, if I could just access the tool! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
I have registered as requested, but I'm unable to get to the "Create a Cookbook" utility. They say I have an incorrect User Id or Password??? How could I? Does it take a while for you User ID and Password to get into the system? Donnalee, did you have any problems?

Thanks for posting this website. I had planned on surprising my daughters with a cookbook at Christmas time and this makes it easy for me to get started!

Sue K., I am sorry that you couldn't get into the website. I did forget to put the www. before the website. It is www.hometowncook.com. (http://www.hometowncook.com.) Try this and see if you can get it to work.
TraceyK., I didn't have any trouble at all getting the Create-a-Cookbook program. Check you password. Maybe you misspelled it or something, or try registering again and see if that works.
