My recipe for STOLLEN calls for 1/8 cup of rum. Do not want to buy a bottle of rum just for this. What can I use to substitute? I only have wine, no hard stuff!

Could you buy a mini bottle of rum?

Don't use wine. If you can't buy a small bottle as Robyn suggested, then you can sub rum extract - probably a lot less than 1/8 cup though.
Here is something I found online that might help:

Curlytop, do you have that stollen recipe handy? And if so, would you please print it?
We have about 60 different varieties of rum in our cabinet, so my problem would be which one to use! ;)

Rum keeps forever so if you bought a bottle, you could use it in other recipes. There are some interesting marinades that use it as well as cake and cookie recipes.
I got a cheap bottle from TJ as I couldn't imagine one would taste the difference in a baked item -- or as an ingredient in a marinade.
