A friend of ours gave us about a pound of clams that are frozen. I want to fix these and invite him for dinner Tuesday.
The only time I tried fixing fresh clams I was disappointed because to me there was no flavor...nothing like the canned clam flavor. Anyway, I decided I would not do that again, but here I am.
They are not in the shell. I'm pretty sure they will be tough, so I'll have to chop/mince/grind(?) them for whatever recipe I choose.
Does anyone have suggestions for this? I did a clam search at CL but didn't come up with much. If a recipe calls for canned clams, I'm in the same no-flavor boat. Should I precook them in some kind of flavored broth?
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
