Just thought I would share this idea with you so that you can try different recipes without having to make all of them yourself. I made a suggestion to a good friend of mine in my supper club and we decided to give it a try. Here is what we are doing. We go through the current issue of CL and pick out several recipes that we think our families would like. We then discuss it, including ingredients , prep time etc. and decide on a recipe each to make. We double the recipe then trade. In other words, I make 8 servings of a 4 serving recipe and give her half for her family. She does the same. We do this mostly with the main dish. No one is expected to provdie the entire meal. This is a good way to get to try different meals if you don't have time to cook every night. We decide which night is most convenient for us to provide the dish and trade off. We have only actually done this one week. This week we are cooking out with our families together, actually this afternoon. We did something similiar as we chose different kabob recipes to try and each prepared one. Just a thought..... I know there are lots of working moms out there, including me. It sure is night to have a good, healthy meal on an evening when you don't have time to prepare it yourself! :)

Lynn,

Great idea!! One of the members in my Supper Club and I frequently exchange "tastes" of dishes we have made when we see each other. A few weeks ago, she also provided me with the Chimichurri Sauce from the Sept issue because she had so much leftover. What a time saver that was! Maybe we should look into expanding this a bit like you have mentioned.

Thanks for the idea!

Peggy

Nice idea, but I live 45 min to over an hour away from our other members. I can't complain, because I wouldn't have met them any other way that I can think of. Like Rosanana Danna used to say, "It's always somthin'!"

In my neighborhood there are several "Dinner co-ops", where 3 families get together and cook enough for all the families one night a week. I'm told it's hard when you have to make enough for 3 families, but fantastic when dinner arrives at your house the next night and you didn't have to cook anything.

What a great idea! My cooking group memebers are about a 30 mins. away, so that would just as time consuming. My mom and I would love to do this, but we are an hour apart. :(
