Okay, there is probably a very simple answer to this question, but I have yet to figure it out. Sometimes I want to print a recipe that is posted in a thread, but if people have posted a lot of responses, it may be in the middle or towards the end of the thread.

I don't want to print all the pages, just the one that has the recipe I want. How do I know what page the recipe is on, and therefore which page to tell the computer to print out?

thanks,
Julie

Hi Julie,

What I do is just highlight the recipe, then click on print and choose "selection" so that it only prints the highlighted area. I know what you mean about printing the whole thread! It can go on for pages sometimes! Hope this helps.

Thank you! Thank you! I knew there was probably a simple way that I just hadn't figured out. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Julie,

I'm so glad you asked that question! And MrsReber (Susan) thanks for the answer! I've just been printing the entire thread, and that can be pages & pages. I'm excited to now be able to save some paper!

Glad I could help! I had printed many many pages before I remembered I could do that!

One more suggestion which can make the recipes a little more printer-friendly and easier to edit: Use the Copy & Paste functions of your browser & a word processing program (i.e. Word, WordPerfect).
Highlight the recipe, then click Edit/Copy on the browser, then, from the toolbar of your word processing program, click Edit/Paste, & voila, you've got it as part of a word document!

Actually, what I do is keep Notepad open but minimized while I'm online, and I copy and paste into Notepad whenever I want to print out a single post. The plus on that system (and on Ralph's, of using a word-processing program) is that I can save up a set of recipes and print them all out at once, and later on I can even import them into MasterCook.
