I bought greek yogurt with fruit (chobani) today around 3pm. Around 7:30 I realized I hadn't put it in the fridge. I stuck them in the fridge but am now having second thoughts.
What do you think? Should I keep or toss?

Oh, heck, this time of year I wouldn't worry about it at all. I figure it has just had a chance for all that beneficial bacteria to proliferate. :p Had it been in a hot car in summer, then I'd be concerned, but not in Feb. Especially since you're having those record cold temps in the low 40s. :D

It is fine.
In order to make yogurt, it has to sit out in a warm environment to help the good bacteria grow.

I have done the same thing and lived to tell about it, so I say keep them! :)

Oh heck, in the winter I regularly leave a yogurt in my car while I'm in class and eat it 5 hours later. Never had any sign of distress.

The USDA says to discard yogurt if held above 40 °F for over 2 hours.

I wouldn't be concerned if it were still sealed. But that's just me!

Unless it were out in the hot sun or something, I wouldn't worry about it either. Most things will last quite a bit longer than the official recommendations.
But sometimes even the slight possibility it could make you sick makes it so you can't enjoy it or it makes you worry, so in those cases, I toss. :)

Guess you don't need another to say "keep".
I agree, if it were sitting in a hot car all afternoon, sure, but it was 45° yesterday.
That brand has been a life-saver for me during this "soft foods" stint.

It was in my house...not the car. My first thought was keep it and I put them in the frig. Then I had second thoughts...but I'm still leaning towards keep

Just want to add that if you have ever seen grocery store stockers, and have watched how pallets of frozen food sit in the aisles for hours, meats sitting before they are put away (gross but I have seen it happen, and I've seen the "behind grocery store stuff") plus add to that what happens when truckers load/unload.
It's a wonder we are not all dead :D

The pre-packaged broccoli or the fresh, loose, stuff?
They mentioned the vendor but did not specify packaged or not.
It did have exp. date on it so maybe only packaged. I guess I've never seen packaged broccoli.

Oops, LOL, I edited my post to include more details. Definitely not the loose stuff.

My son ate a yogurt last night when I was asleep. Guess the decision was already made - keep ;)
Fresh packaged broccoli can be found at Target and Trader Joes. Any place that sells it by the each rather than the pound.
