I couldn't find a review of these - has anyone made them yet? I found Bosc pears at the store this weekend, so I picked some up, along with the other ingredients to make this. It was supposed to be dessert last night, until I started reading through the recipe and saw that you're supposed to strain the yogurt for 24 hours. (I hate it when I don't read a recipe first!)
So we'll be having these for dinner tonight. I'll post a review tomorrow, but was curious to see if anyone else had feedback.

My sister made these last week, and I thought they were really delicious.
I had nothing to do with the prep, so I can't help you there!

That's all I wanted to hear! I'd hate to go to all the trouble (which really isn't all that much, just remembering having to start a day early) if it sucks. Thanks! :)

KLynn, I was hoping someone had tried this recipe. What I'm curious about is the sweet yogurt cream. Would this be suitable to use in place of that whipped topping stuff that so many recipes call for on desserts? Like maybe for a topping on a cream pie?
Just curious...:)

I made this last night, only to discover that I could have made them the day before, after all. The sweet yogurt cream (which is the part that requires you start a day early) didn't add anything to this dish, IMO. The pears were delicious, and I'd definitely make them again (although they're not quick - 50 minutes in the oven), but I'd skip the sweet yogurt cream. DH wouldn't touch the stuff. I ate it with my pears, but I think they were better without.
