I have lots of yellow squash in my garden this year. Does anyone know if I can substitute the yellow squash for zucchini squash in zucchini bread?

Absolutely! From my experience, you should be able to substitute it for most everything you make with zucchini. Glad yours is growing well. My plants didn't make it!

You can use it in breads, muffins, cakes and soups. You can also microwave it with a bit of dried Italian seasoning, grill it & brush it with a bit of olive oil. Add it to stir fries too.

Thank you both! This is the first time I've grown it. I use it mostly in pastas (along with zucchini) and it's also excellent grilled. I just wasn't sure about using it for baking. The plants are doing so well that I have more than I would use otherwise!
Here's a recipe for a Baked Yellow Squash that my husband and I love. Not a bread, but very good.
2 1/2 lbs. yellow squash
2 T butter
3 T chopped onion
1 egg
2/3 cup bread crumbs
1-2 T sugar
1 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
Cut ends off squash and cut each into several pieces. Place in pot with water to almost cover. Cook until tender. Drain well in collander, then mash. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a 2 or 2-1/2 qt. caserole and sprinkle with more bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned, about 20-30 min. Makes 6 servings.
Can be made ahead, leftovers are great, and it would probably freeze well too, but I haven't tried freezing.
