Crock Pot Baked Beans
-1 pound hamburger
-1 onion, chopped
-6 cans pork and beans (16 ounces)
-1 jar chili sauce (12-ounce)
-1 can crushed pineapple (8 ounces)
-1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
-1 tablespoon dry mustard
-1 cup BBQ sauce
-12 strips bacon crumbled (optional)
Brown hamburger and onion. Chop meat until meat is very fine such as found in hot dog chili. (I use a whisk to break meat up). Combine meat mixture and remaining ingredients in a crock pot, stir well. Cover and cook on HIGH setting 3 1/2 hours. Yields 10 servings. Freezes well!
I believe I got this out of a Southern Living cookbook.

Interesting twist with the pinapple, at first I thought how wierd, but that may just work

I use a recipe similar to this, but add sliced smoked sausage in place of the bacon, and I slow cook it around 8 hours on LOW setting.

The pineapple is a must, just trust me. And I've used hot Italian sausage in place of the hamburger for an added kick. Can you say nom, nom, nom? :)
