Hello!

We are an established supper club started on this site over 10 years ago, looking for a few new members. We are a group of women (men welcome, though!) that are into food--eating, cooking, and occasionally, foraging for it!

We meet once a month at a member's house for supper, taking turns hosting. The hostess takes care of the entree, everyone else takes the other courses--appetizer, side/salad, dessert, and sometimes a bread or wine course, depending on the number of members coming! We sometimes cook the entree together and often put the finishing touches on our courses at the hostess' house. We also have a once a year Crab Feast that we invite families to and a holiday cookie exchange.

Hi Wendy.
I just moved to the area and am very interested in joining your group. I have a nice big kitchen and would like to cook more. I especially am interested in leaning toward healthy cooking, but am open to trying whatever the group has been doing. The group description sounds like fun and very doable. At the very least, my name will be easy to remember.

I am excited that you would like to join us! Yes, that will be easy to remember.

As far as healthy, we do try to keep it healthier, but desserts often seem to be not so healthy. We do our best, but we have fun too!

We are planning a supper club for late August/early September--most likely our yearly Crab Feast, but it would be good to get together before that so you could meet us and see if it is something you want to do.

We are skipping July supper club as we had multiple weeks with members out of town for vacation or for work. We could have most of us (that were available) go out to dinner late July or early August. Do you have any time that doesn't work in July and August?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

July is a busy month for me with some travel. I'm available July 16 and the weekend of the 23rd. I'm not free the first week of August, but am free from August 7th on.... Hope that makes sense.

Don't worry, I enjoy a good dessert too!

Are you able to do a meet up intro dinner or supper club during the week? We typically meet on a weeknight or sometimes Friday night for our supper club.

It is looking like Aug 11/12 or after the 23rd this time around--we are having more vacations again during August, so sorry for the delay!

Once I get my August schedule, we will settle on a date.

I will keep you posted. We are looking forward to meeting you too!

Ok, here are the possible days for the August supper club:

August 11, 12, 23, 24, 25, and 26, with the 12th being the last choice by two of the members.

We are planning a get to know you dinner on Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 pm at Nonna Ristorante, 4621 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark DE 19713.

Don't let the fact that it is in a strip mall with a Wawa and a bank throw you. It is good!

Hopefully that works for you. We will do a more traditional supper club in a member's home in September if you still want to join after the dinner.

Apparently Nonna's is closed for construction. I am so disappointed, because it is one of my favorite restaurants. Promise you will give it a chance in the future.

So, we need a different restaurant. I am thinking Firebirds Wood Fired Grill firebirdsrestaurants.com‎ if we want to stay in the same area or Caffe Gelato caffegelato.net on Main Street if we want to stay with Italian.

Let me know your vote tomorrow by noon so I can make a reservation. We actually have 9 people, and I don't want us to have to wait!
