Hi!
Does anyone know a blog that is all about Fall? I LOVE everything Fall all year around.... I would skip summer all together and just have Fall with a little winter mixed in all year.... so was wondering if you know of a Blog that specializes in all things Fall or maybe is doing Fall stuff now.....
I'd love to do one, but not enough time in the world for me to even come close to doing something like that any time soon..........
Would love your input!
Thanks!:D

I don't know of any, but I wish I did! I'm like you---I get way too excited about Fall. The cool, crisp air, the colored leaves, putting on the first sweater of the season, pumpkins, apples, hayrides...I love it all! There's a certain smell in the air on those crisp autumn days that I wish I could bottle up and keep with me all year 'round. And call me crazy, but after summer is over, I actually look forward to the days getting shorter and dusk settling in a little earlier. We recently moved from Maine (boo hoo), but Fall was the time when we would fire up our woodstove for the first time, and there's just something so darned cozy about seeing the smoke billowing out the chimney of our little old cape on a nippy Fall evening. It just made everything seem right with the world.
If you find such a blog, let me know! (And I'll do the same!)

I don't know of a blog but like you hate summer. Of course, I just happen to live in Florida:rolleyes: where it is HOT & HUMID most of the time:rolleyes:. I absolutely love fall with all the pretty colors, crisp cool air, fall flavors of ginger, clove, nutmeg, molasses, apple, pumpkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D

I would love to read blogs about fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving.....
I'm another one that could do without the long, drawn-out summer of Florida.
CookingInMaine: Your description of the wood stove smoke from the chimney made ME feel cozy just reading about it.
Off to think about all the stews and soups I'm going to cook once it is no longer in the 90s.

Another Floridian chiming in here. What is CookinginMaine talking about? :D

Yes, I guess if you live in Florida, the idea of burning a wood stove to keep warm must be a pretty foreign concept! On the flip side, we had no air conditioning in the summer (also probably a foreign concept to Floridians!).

So right there. :D The closest thing to what you are talking about that we have is a neighbor across the street. They have a chimney and I guess a fireplace. When I can smell smoke from their place, I say, ah, fall is here. :D
You all are pretty lucky. Hope you enjoy and cherish every moment. ;)

We have a wood burning fireplace, but you won't smell it until January or February. ;)
I grew up in the north so I know what CookingMaine is talking about, but..............it's been a long, long ago memory here. :::sigh:::

It really feels like Fall in North Idaho. The leaves are changing, the smell of wood burning and rays of the sun are sitting lower. Love it! But, come February I hope all of you Floridians (?) stay quiet about your nice weather. ;) That's about the time I'm online looking for houses in Tuscon.

Our neighbors usually start up their fireplace around Halloween. Not necessarily cold enough for it, but I think they just like it.;)

Not necessarily cold enough for it, but I think they just like it.;)We had some friends in GA that would set the thermostat down to 55 in fall, when most were still using AC, just to have a fire. My DH is fireplace-crazy, but not that crazy!:D

Not really a fall or winter fan here! It would be nice if we could afford to live here (Ohio) in the summer and live in Florida in the winter. Dream on..
If I see a blog, I'll let you guys know.

Aw, I'm so excited I found fellow Fall lovers!!! CookinginME where did you move too?
I grew up in ME and believe me there is something so special about those cool Fall days - I have the best memories of going to apple orchards having hot cider, taking hay rides out to pick the apples, picking my own pumpkins, gram's apple pies, apple crisp and oh the leaves, did we have leaves!!! We lived in the country so we used to rake them and jump in them, build scarecrows (which weren't so scary:^) and basically make a big mess!!!!
My grandparents also had a wood burning stove and it is the best! And fireplaces for cold winter nights around Christmas - of course they would make us homemade cocoa....
Living in MA was hard, I went to an apple orchard and it was this big production with traffic controllers and everything - I couldn't believe my eyes.... Let's just say I didn't go back there.
I recently moved to NH and I LOVE it! Though on a bad note, we are having such hot weather:(. It's killing me. Sorry Floridians... my grandparents have to drag me there to see them kicking and screaming.... too hot all year for me:p.
This Sunday I am supposed to be going apple picking - should be 63, not bad - would like it a little cooler, but I'll take it. I love the days I can wear my puffy vest, a light scarf, light sweater and jeans!
Right now I have a sugar pumpkin in the oven baking so I can make a pumpkin pasta casserole. I have my first weekend off in I don't know how long so today is all about cooking, cleaning, studying and enjoying the sunshine and sounds of nothing in my little NH country apartment!!! (I spend M-Th afternoon in Mass... so I doubly enjoy my sweet sounds of nothing on weekends).
Oh and I think I'm going to decorate for Fall today too - get out my Fall and Halloween decs! I think October-Jan should be Vacation for me:D
I'll see if I can find a Fall blog, if not I might have to look into how to create one, once I graduate on December 5th of course;).

CookinginME where did you move too?
We moved to North Carolina. A lovely state, and we like it here, but we're Mainers at heart! (We're military, so we move often.)
New Hampshire is a beautiful state. Heck, anywhere in New England is a great place to be in the fall. Hope you enjoyed apple picking this weekend...if you're looking for a good recipe to use up some of those apples, the Apple-Cream Cheese Bundt Cake from Southern Living is reeeeeally good. Not healthy in the least, but you can burn off some of those calories on a hike in the White Mountains!

Good one, Cookie! I like that and all things fall. Here's one my cousin sent me .
Delicious Autumn!

and if I were a bird
I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns.

AND that vbak is exactly how I feel - haha. I would indeed do that!!!!
CookinginME - NC is a great state. My best friend did her PhD at NC State, so I spent quite a bit of time there visiting and loved it!
Unfortunately it rained all weekend so no apple picking for us after all:(. I'm so sad because this is my only weekend off and who knows if I'll have another chance - argh... can't wait until I am done school. So we had to go to the grocery store and buy apples just so I could make apple crisp-haha. I couldn't let my one weekend go by without cooking something Fallish!!!! So I did and it was good, but not quite the same:rolleyes:
Cookiee, thanks for posting that, I liked that one too. I think there must have been a Fall chip implanted in me before I was born - it is what I look forward to ALL year round.... hahahaha. Sad, I know:^) but I make the most of the rest of the year too!
Have a wonderful week everyone in case I am not on here again for a while! I made the pumpkin pasta that I wrote on another thread, unfortunately it wasn't a huge hit, it was bland and even with spice was bland. Ah well, you win some and you lose some-haha. But not bad either, I just usually make pretty exciting food-haha.:p

I typed "fall" into the search box on the Martha Stewart website and got several pages of ecipe collections and decorating ideas. You can see it
